Walk the Talk at the SOC Annual Bird Conference
Atholl Palace Hotel, Pitlochry
23 – 24 November 2024

This event is open to all with an interest in birds with a full programme of walks, talks and workshops planned for the weekend. This year, while bringing you the latest research on birds, the SOC Conference is placing the emphasis on offering attendees hands-on activities to develop their understanding and skills. The conference will start with a series of birdwatching walks around Pitlochry. Talks will then take place on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons, covering subjects including the latest seabird census results, research on migration and stories from the frontline of bird conservation. These talks will take place alongside interactive workshops on themes such as how to garden for wildlife, recording bird sounds and using apps to improve your birdwatching. In addition, the Conference is also an opportunity to meet like-minded people and enjoy the social side of the occasion which culminates in the Saturday night ceilidh. This mix of talks, walks, workshops and social occasion is guaranteed to deliver a well-rounded event that will appeal to anyone with an interest in birds.
