Megas and much more: Shetland Autumn Birding with Shetland Nature

Award-winning nature tour company, Shetland Nature, have announced a new and improved Autumn Shetland birding tour for 2024.

Shetland in Autumn
The 2024 trip has an improved itinerary and format and is now based in Sumburgh, Hillswick and Fetlar.

There is always something special about visiting a remote archipelago at any time of year, but for a birder in autumn, Shetland is truly without equal. The unique combination of its geographical location, stunning scenery, and of course it’s unparalleled track record for attracting migrants, rarities and outrageous headline megas, all combine to make it an absolute must for birders. And for those who enjoy a more rounded experience in the field, autumn offers more than migrant birds – there are Otters with young cubs along the coast, Mountain Hare and Red Grouse out on the heathery hills, and not to mention a reasonable chance of an inshore Orca encounter. Our Shetland Autumn Birding & Wildlife tour is an experience way beyond the birds alone.
