Birds of prey and magpies found dead in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Police have issued an appeal for information following a gruesome discovery of a number of dead birds of prey and magpies.

In their initial request for information, Lincolnshire Police provided very little detail, such as species involved, specific location or date of discovery. It is not clear why they haven’t provided this information as it might help jog someone’s memory of something suspicious. Lincolnshire is a very large county after all.

From a photo it is thought that the dead birds included three Barn Owls, a Red Kite, a Tawny Owl and two Magpies. Subsequent tweets from Lincolnshire have named the location as Ewerby Thorpe near Sleaford but as yet they have not said when the discovery was made.

The photo of the dead raptors also included what looks to be chunks of meat and a strange blue colouring on one of the parts. Again, Lincolnshire Police have not commented on these aspects.

DC Aaron Flint is asking anyone with information to contact 101 quoting 22000747007, or by emailing him on aaron.Flint@lincs.police.uk.

We have asked Lincolnshire Police for a full statement on the incident but as yet have not had a reply. We will update this article if we get a reply.
