  New discoveries today included a Pacific Golden Plover at Titchwell RSPB, Norfolk, a Broad-billed Sandpiper at Newport Wetlands NNR, Gwent, a Rustic Bunting on the Isle of May, Fife, a Greenish Warbler and a Bee-eater on Portland, Dorset and a Black Kite at Marazion Marsh RSPB, Cornwall.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Great Knot in Norfolk, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in Yorkshire, King Eider in Lothian and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland.

Friday 17th June 2016  
  The Great Knot remained in Norfolk at Titchwell this morning, before being relocated nearby on Scolt Head Island this evening. Other lingering rarities included the two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in Yorkshire and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham. A female Black-headed or Red-headed Bunting was on the Isle of Man briefly.

Scarcity highlights included a Red-necked Phalarope, a Common Rosefinch, a Marsh Warbler, a White-winged Black Tern, a Pomarine Skua, a Montagu's Harrier, a Green-winged Teal, a White Stork, a Glossy Ibis, two Serins and three Roseate Terns.

Wednesday 15th June 2016  
  An adult summer plumaged Great Knot was discovered at Titchwell RSPB, Norfolk early afternoon. This fifth for Britain is the second for Norfolk, following the adult at Breydon Water just under two years ago.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed Terns in Forth and County Wexford, Little Bittern in Yorkshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland.

Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Purple Heron, a Ring-necked Duck, a Ring-billed Gull, a Pomarine Skua, a White Stork, two Golden Orioles, two Marsh Warblers and five Glossy Ibises.

Tuesday 14th June 2016  
  The highlight of the day was a male Pied Wheatear on the Isle of Wight at Freshwater: only the fourth British record in the spring/summer period, following males in Norfolk on 28th May 1978, East Sussex on 7th-9th July 1990, and East Yorkshire then North Yorkshire on 20th-23rd June 1991.

Elsewhere, a second Caspian Tern joined the first in Lincolnshire at Gibraltar Point, the Dalmatian Pelican remained in Cornwall, as did the Broad-billed Sandpiper in Conwy, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and in Forth the Gull-billed Tern reappeared.

Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Golden Oriole (East Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (County Donegal), Cattle Egret (Isle of Wight), Ring-billed Gull (County Fermanagh), and three Glossy Ibises.

Sunday 12th June 2016  
  A Bee-eater flew south over Spurn this morning, and a Black Kite flew north at Danbury, Essex this afternoon.

Lingering rarities included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Black-headed Bunting in Highland, Little Bittern in Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, single Gull-billed Terns in Lothian and County Wexford and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland.

Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, an American Golden Plover, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Purple Heron, a White Stork, a Pomarine Skua and two Marsh Warblers.

Saturday 11th June 2016  
  New rarities discovered today were a Broad-billed Sandpiper in Flintshire at Gronant, and a Spotted Sandpiper in London at Brent Reservoir.

Lingering rarities confimrmed as still present comprised a Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, both Black-headed Bunting and King Eider in Highland, Gull-billed Tern in County Wexford, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Iberian Chiffchaff on the Isles of Scilly, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham.

Scarcities included Purple Heron (Anglesey and Hertfordshire), Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Serin and Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Marsh Warbler and Red-backed Shrike (Suffolk), Hoopoe (South Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), White Stork (Somerset), and both American Golden Plover and Cattle Egret (County Wexford).

Friday 10th June 2016  
  A White-throated Sparrow was discovered at Vaul on Tiree in Argyll today. Further north a Black-headed Bunting was in a garden in Glendale on the Isle of Skye, Highland whilst a Gull-billed Tern was at Tacumshin, County Wexford and a Bee-eater flew over Martletwy, Pembrokeshire.

Lingering rarities included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Savi's Warbler in East Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland and Lesser Scaup in County Fermanagh.

Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, an Icterine Warbler, a Night Heron, a Purple Heron, an American Golden Plover, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Green-winged Teal, a White Stork, two Golden Orioles, two Marsh Warblers, two Glossy Ibises, three Roseate Terns and up to five Red-necked Phalaropes.

Thursday 9th June 2016  
  New rarities today comprised a King Eider in Lothian at Musselburgh, and a Red-rumped Swallow on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly. Otherwise, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Semipalmated Plover in County Wexford, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Whiskered Tern in Suffolk, Iberian Chiffchaff on the Isles of Scilly, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, and Ferruginous Duck in County Durham.

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Shetland Isles), American Golden Plover (County Wexford), Marsh Warbler (Suffolk), Hoopoe (Essex), Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Green-winged Teal (Cheshire), two Icterine Warblers, and three migrant Red-necked Phalaropes.

Significant late news concerned a Snowy Owl seen on Tuesday in County Clare at Gleninagh, where it may have been present since January.
