  New rarities today included a Black Kite at Skipwith Common, North Yorkshire, Black-throated Thrush at Danskine, Lothian, Bonaparte's Gulls at Ballyconneely, County Galway, at Abberton Reservoir, Essex, at Fishlake Meadows HIWWT, Hampshire, at Rainham Marshes RSPB, London, and at Bantry, County Cork, and Red-rumped Swallow at Minsmere RSPB, Suffolk.

Rarities included Lesser Scaups in Buckinghamshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Denbighshire, Hume's Warbler in Suffolk and Warwickshire, King Eider in Highland, Hooded Merganser in Warwickshire, Marsh Sandpiper in County Durham, Bonaparte's Gulls in Cornwall, Lancashire, Essex and Shetland, White-winged Scoter in Fife, Forster's Tern in Dorset, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Black-winged Kite in Norfolk, and American Coot in County Cork and County Wexford respectively.
