| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Lesser Crested Tern in Devon on the Exe Estuary where it showed until dusk; this is the record of this species in Britain in 20 years.
Elsewhere, rarities comprised Siberian Rubythroat and King Eider both still in Shetland, two Northern Harriers together in County Wexford, Baikal Teal and Desert Wheatear still in Dorset, White-winged Scoter in Fife, Hume's Warbler in Kent, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Clare, Kentish Plover in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall, Red-breasted Goose in Essex, and Lesser Scaups in Cornwall (2), Essex, Surrey, and the Western Isles. |
