| The highlight of the day was a (the?) male Siberian Thrush in Shetland at Asta, Mainland, a Blyth's Reed Warbler new on Yell, and on Unst Radde's Warbler, Citrine Wagtail, and at least one Hornemann's Redpoll.
Discoveries elsewhere included a Turkestan Shrike in Suffolk at Dunwich Heath, a brief Hudsonian Whimbrel in Orkney on North Ronaldsay, a Ross's Goose in Merseyside at Marshside, and Pallid Harriers in Angus at Montrose Basin, and at Keyhaven, Hampshire. Continuing rarities comprised the Swainson's Thrush still in County Donegal, Wilson's Phalarope and Spotted Sandpiper both in the Isles of Scilly, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Siberian Stonechat in County Durham, Blyth's Reed Warbler in Angus, Pallid Harrier in Glamorgan, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. |
