No new rarities were found today, but a Baltic Gull of the nominate form fuscus was confirmed yesterday at Stanton St.John in Oxfordshire.
There was no sign today of the Desert Wheatear in Somerset but the Western Sandpiper remained at Maidens Harbour in Ayrshire and the Black-winged Pratincole continued to frequent Setter Marsh on Mainland Shetland. Elsewhere, lingering rarities included the Little Bittern in Scilly, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Pacific Golden Plover in Cleveland, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Derry, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Great Reed Warbler in East Yorkshire and Iberian Chiffchaff in Fife. |
