New discoveries today were of a Blyth's Reed Warbler singing on North Uist in the Western Isles and an Eastern Subalpine Warbler trapped and ringed on North Ronaldsay in the Orkneys.

The fine male Eyebrowed Thrush was still to be found on Yell in the Shetlands and the Western Sandpiper was still frequenting Maidens Harbour in Ayrshire. Other lingering rarities included White-rumped Sandpiper and American Black Tern in Northumberland, Ferruginous Ducks in Warwickshire and Cambridgeshire and the Great Reed Warbler in Yorkshire.
