| The highlight of the day was the discovery in Cornwall of an Alpine Swift at Cot Valley and a Black Kite at St Erth; both new for the year.
Rarities elsewhere comprised the Booted Eagle still in Cornwall, two White-winged Scoters and a White-billed Diver still together in Lothian, Bufflehead in Shetland, Black Scoter in Wirral, Black Duck in County Mayo, Pallid Harier in Norfolk, Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, Richardson's Cackling Geese in both County Mayo (2) and County Sligo, Ferruginous Ducks in Lincolnshire and Warwickshire (2), and Lesser Scaups in Clyde, Dorset, Essex (2), and Kinross (3). |
