  Rarities today comprised the Grey-headed Lapwing still in Northumberland, Bufflehead still in Shetland, Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim, Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, White-rumped Sandpiper in Suffolk, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, and Warwickshire.

  Rarities today comprised the Grey-headed Lapwing still in Northumberland, Kentish Plover still in Somerset, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Devon and Norfolk, Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, London, and Warwickshire.

Friday 20th December 2024  
  Rarities today comprised the Grey-headed Lapwing still in Northumberland at East Chevington, American Coot in Shetland, Pallid Harrier in County Cork, White-rumped Sandpiper in Suffolk, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Lesser Scaups in Fife and Staffordshire, and in County Sligo a Cackling Goose new-in at Lissadell.

Thursday 19th December 2024  
  Today's new rarity was a Cape Verde Shearwater reported past Pendeen in Cornwall.

Rarities today comprised the Bufflehead still in Shetland, Grey-headed Lapwing in Northumberland, two Long-billed Dowitchers in Norfolk and Devon, Lesser Scaups in County Cork, Fife, and Staffordshire, Pallid Harrier in County Cork, Kentish Plover in Somerset, and Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire.

  Rarities today comprised the Baikal Teal still in Somerset, Bufflehead still in Shetland, Penduline Tit in Cambridgeshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Scaups in County Cork and Somerset, and Ferruginous Ducks in London and Warwickshire.

  Rarities today comprised the American Coot still in Shetland, Baikal Teal still in Somerset, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Long-billed Dowitchers in Devon and Norfolk, Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in Cornwall, Lesser Scaups in Cambridgeshire and Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in London and Warwickshire.

Late news from yesterday concerned an Eastern Stonechat species discovered at Saltfleetby, Lincolnshire.

Monday 16th December 2024  
  Rarities today comprised the Bufflehead still in Shetland, Baikal Teal and Kentish Plover both still in Somerset, Long-billed Dowitcher again in Norfolk, Azorean Yellow-legged Gull and a Black Kite reported in Cornwall, Lesser Scaup in County Clare, County Cork, and Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire (three together), London, and Warwickshire.

Sunday 15th December 2024  
  No new rarities were found today, but a bit if belated news concerned a West Siberian Stonechat at Icklesham in Sussex in November.

The Grey-headed Lapwing remained in Northumberland and the Baikal Teal remained present in Somerset. Other lingering rarities included the Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, Red-breasted Goose in Cumbria, Lesser Scaups in County Donegal, County Cork, Staffordshire and Essex, Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, and Hume's Warbler in Cornwall.

Saturday 14th December 2024  
  Discoveries today included a Hume's Warbler in Cornwall at Newlyn, a Lesser Scaup in County Cork at Lough Clubir, and a White-billed Diver at South Nesting Bay, Shetland.

Continuing rarities confirmed as still present were the Grey-headed Lapwing in Northumberland, both American Coot and Bufflehead in Shetland, Baikal Teal and Kentish Plover in Somerset, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Lesser Scaup Staffordshire, and Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire (2), Lincolnshire, and Warwickshire.

Friday 13th December 2024  
  One new rarity was found today, a Penduline Tit at Ouse Fen in Cambridgeshire.

The Grey-headed Lapwing remained in Northumberland and seems to be settling down and the Baikal Teal was again present in Somerset. Other lingering rarities included the American Coot in Shetland, Lesser Scaups in County Wexford (two), Staffordshire and Cambridgeshire, Ferruginous Ducks in Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Lincolnshire, Pallid Harriers in Norfolk and County Cork, and Hume's Warbler in Kent.
