  A major surprise today was a Paddyfield Warbler trapped +ringed at a private site in Staffordshire. Other new rarities found were a Pacific Diver off Gleninagh Quay in County Clare and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Rye Harbour in Sussex.

The Greater Sandplover continued to delight observers in Northumberland, while elsewhere lingering rarities included the Stejneger's Scoter in Lothian, Ferruginous Duck in Buckinghamshire, Caspian Tern in Cleveland, Least Tern in County Dublin, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent and Lesser Yellowlegs in both Nottinghamshire and Fife.
