The highlight of the day was a record arrival of 10 Lesser Scaups together in Cornwall at Drift Reservoir with a further two at Dozmary Pool, and a Pacific Golden Plover nearby at Colliford Lake. Elsewhere, a Penduline Tit was new in Somerset at Portbury Wharf, as was a Dusky Warbler in Northumberland on Holy Island, a White-billed Diver in Lothian at Musselburgh, and Pallid Swifts in Lincolnshire at Far Ings (2), Gibraltar Point, and Huttoft Bank (2), and East Yorkshire at both Flamborough Head and Hornsea. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Red-headed Bunting, Two-barred Greenish Warbler, Blue-winged Teal, and three Dusky Warblers all in East Yorkshire, Solitary Sandpiper in Kent, Upland Sandpiper and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in Cornwall, Grey-cheeked Thrush and Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly, Western Rufous Turtle Dove and Coues's Arctic Redpoll together on the Orkney Isles, Pacific Diver in County Cork, Spotted Sandpiper in County Kerry, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Bonaparte's Gull in Highland, and Squacco Herons in both Somerset and the Western Isles. |
