New discoveries today consisted of a Kentish Plover at Landguard Nature Reserve in Suffolk, Broad-billed Sandpiper at Burnham Deepdale in Norfolk, Black Kite at Perranarworthal in Cornwall, Bee Eaters at Driffield in East Yorkshire, Pacific Diver at Fetlar in Shetland, Ferruginous Duck at Holme Pierrepont in Nottinghamshire, and four Black-winged Stilts at Worth in Kent and two at Welney in Norfolk. Lingering rarities today comprised the Caspian Tern in Norfolk, Eastern Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, Iberian Chiffchaff in Gloucestershire, Pallid Harrier in Shropshire, Forster's Tern in Dorset, Black-winged Stilt in Nottinghamshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Great Reed Warbler in Norfolk, and Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland. Scarcities included three Night Herons, two Hoopoe, eight Dotterel, 22 Temminck's Stints, Honey Buzzard, four Glaucous Gulls, seven Glossy Ibises, four Pom Skuas, Purple Heron, Serin, five Long-tailed Skuas, Shorelark, Iceland Gull, Green-winged Teal, two Red-backed Shrikes, Rosefinch, two Bluethroats, Pectoral Sandpiper, Tundra Bean Goose, American Wigeon, and a Ring-necked Duck. |
