| A Brunnich's Guillemot was in Yell Sound, Shetland today, where it showed very well from a boat. Further south, a first-winter Ross's Gull spent late afternoon on water meadows north of Dorchester, Dorset.
Lingering rarities included the Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, two Hume's Warblers in Kent, White-winged Scoters in Lothian and County Mayo, Hooded Merganser also in County Mayo, Baikal Teal in Gwynedd, King Eider in Cleveland, three Ferruginous Ducks, Long-billed Dowitcher and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim and Greater Yellowlegs in County Waterford. Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Great Grey Shrike, two Richard's Pipits, two Little Buntings, 11 Shorelarks, 21 Waxwings, four Glossy Ibises, two Green-winged Teal, six Surf Scoters, 13 Ring-necked Ducks, a Black Brant, four Tundra Bean Geese, 12 Taiga Bean Geese, two Ring-billed Gulls, four Glaucous Gulls and 19 Iceland Gulls. |
