Rarities today comprised the White-winged Scoter still in County Mayo, Pacific Diver still in Fife, Isabelline Wheatear still in Cornwall, Laughing Gull reported again in Devon, Pallid Harrier, Richardson's Cackling Goose, and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in both Kent and Somerset, Kentish Plover in Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Surrey, and Ferruginous Ducks in both Norfolk (2) and Staffordshire.

Scarcities incouded Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Ring-billed Gull (Clyde), Sabine's Gull (Hampshire), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling (Somerset), Green-winged Teal (County Kerry), two each of Little Bunting, American Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Lapland Bunting, Great Grey Shrike, Yellow-browed Warbler, Snow Goose, and Black Brant, four Glossy Ibises, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 28 Waxwings.

  Lingering rarities seen today included the Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Hume's Warblers in Somerset and Kent, Penduline Tit also in Kent, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll, White-winged Scoter and Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, two Ferruginous Ducks, Richardson's Cackling Goose and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Lesser Scaups in Somerset, Surrey and County Armagh, King Eider in Cleveland, Kentish Plover in Somerset and Pacific Diver in Fife.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Richard's Pipit, a Great Grey Shrike, a Rose-coloured Starling, two Little Buntings, two Lapland Buntings, 13 Shorelarks, 39 Waxwings, an American Wigeon, two Surf Scoters, three Green-winged Teal, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, a Snow Goose, two Black Brants, three Taiga Bean Geese, five Tundra Bean Geese, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Lady Amherst's Pheasant, five Glossy Ibises, a Sabine's Gull, two Kumlien's Gulls, four Iceland Gulls and seven Glaucous Gulls.

  Lingering rarities seen today included the Harlequin Duck in Western Isles, White-winged Scoter, Hooded Merganser and Black Duck in County Mayo, Lesser Scaups in Surrey and Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Richardson's Cackling Goose, Ferruginous Duck and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Red-breasted Goose in Cumbria, Cackling Goose in Argyll, Pacific Diver in Fife, Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Hume's Warbler and two Penduline Tits in Kent and another Hume's Warbler and another Penduline Tit in Somerset.

Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Richard's Pipit, two Little Buntings, three Yellow-browed Warblers, 14 Shorelarks, 50 Waxwings, six Glossy Ibises, two American Wigeon, two Surf Scoters, three Green-winged Teals, ten Ring-necked Ducks, two Snow Geese, two Black Brants, two Todd's Canada Geese, three Tundra Bean Geese, a Sabine's Gull, a Kumlien's Gull, nine Iceland Gulls and nine Glaucous Gulls.

Highlights today included a Falcated Duck in Lincolnshire at Covenham Reservoir, a Pacific Diver confirmed in Fife at Leven, a Richardson's Cackling Goose new in Norfolk at Brancaster, and a Lesser Scaup in County Mayo at Rostaff Lough.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, White-winged Scoter, Black Duck, and Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Harlequin Duck and Cackling Goose on the Western Isles, Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Hume's Warblers in Kent and Somerset, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Kentish Plover and Penduline Tit in Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset, Surrey, and the Western Isles, and Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk (2) and County Tyrone.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Somerset), Rough-legged Buzzard (Shetland), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Sabine's Gull (Hampshire), Green-winged Teal (Isle of Man), Kumlien's Gull (County Galway), two each of American Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Snow Goose, and Yellow-browed Warbler, six Ring-necked Ducks, seven Glossy Ibises, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 45 Waxwings.

Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck still on the Western Isles, White-winged Scoter still in County Mayo, both Isabelline Wheatear and American Herring Gull in Cornwall, Baikal Teal in Nottinghamshire, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in Kent and Somerset, Penduline Tits in County Cork (3) and Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Surrey, and Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk and County Tyrone.

Scarcities included Serin (Cornwall), Sabine's Gull (Hampshire), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), two Yellow-browed Warblers, three Green-winged Teals, four Ring-billed Gulls, nine Ring-necked Ducks, 19 Shorelarks, and a total of 45 Waxwings.

Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck still on the Western Isles, Baikal Teal in Nottinghamshire, Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Black Duck in County Mayo, Pallid Harrier, Long-billed Dowitcher, and two Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Hume's Warbler and Kentish Plover in Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in both Somerset and Surrey, and Penduline Tits in County Cork (3) and Somerset.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Sabine's Gull and Black Brant (Hampshire), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Yellow-browed Warbler (Lancashire), Lapland Bunting (Norfolk), two each of both Ring-billed Gull and Surf Scoter, three of Kumlien's Gull and Glossy Ibis, 12 Ring-necked Ducks, 16 Shorelarks, and a total of 40 Waxwings.

There was late news this morning of an Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall found yesterday, this bird is still present today. A Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll was discovered in County Mayo.

Lingering rarities still present were the Harlequin Duck in Western Isles, Penduline Tit, Hume's Warbler, and Kentish Plover in Somerset, Baikal Teal in Nottinghamshire, White-winged Scoter, Black Duck, and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Mayo, Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll, and 3 Penduline Tits in County Cork.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler, Sabine's Gull, Black Brant, Kumlien's Gull, two each of both American Wigeon and Great Grey Shrike, three Yellow-browed Warblers, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, 17 Shorelarks, eight Iceland Gulls, six Glaucous Gulls, Pomarine Skua, Pomarine Skua, two Tundra Bean Geese, Rosefinch, Lady Amherst's Pheasant, two Lapland Buntings, four Green-winged Teals, six Little Auks, three Surf Scoters, Pomarine Skua, Todd's Canada Goose and a total of 41 Waxwings.

The highlight od the day was a Harlequin Duck discovered on the Western Isles on Barra; perhaps the same individual earlier present on Coll, Argyll on 22nd December 2022. Elsewhere, in Somerset a Penduline Tit was new at Bridgwater, and news broke of a female Baikal Teal at Finningley on the South Yorkshire/Nottinghamshire border.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Greater Yellowlegs still in County Waterford, Pallid Harrier and three Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Hume's Warbler, Kentish Plover, and Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Hume's Warbler in Kent, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, King Eider in Cleveland, and Ferruginous Duck in County Tyrone.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Sabine's Gull and Black Brant (Hampshire), Surf Scoter (County Kerry), Green-winged Teal (Dorset), Lapland Bunting (Norfolk), Kumlien's Gull (Cambridgeshire), two each of both American Wigeon and Great Grey Shrike, three Yellow-browed Warblers, seven Glossy Ibises, 12 Ring-necked Ducks, 18 Shorelarks, and a total of 40 Waxwings.

  Lingering rarities seen today included the Black-browed Albatross in Cornwall (today off Pendeen Watch), Hume's Warbler, Turkestan Lesser Whitethroat, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, further Hume's Warblers in Somerset and Kent, three Penduline Tits in County Cork and another in Kent, Kentish Plover and Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Lesser Scaup in Surrey and King Eider in Cleveland.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, two Yellow-browed Warblers, two Great Grey Shrikes, 18 Shorelarks, 62 Waxwings, seven Glossy Ibises, a Rough-legged Buzzard, a Lady Amherst's Pheasant, two American Wigeon, three Green-winged Teal, three Surf Scoters, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, a Snow Goose, a Todd's Canada Goose, seven Tundra Bean Geese, a Little Auk, a Sabine's Gull, five Ring-billed Gulls, six Glaucous Gulls, a Kumlien's Gull and eight Iceland Gulls.

  A White-billed Diver was found off Yell, Shetland today.

Lingering rarities still present included the Black-browed Albatross in Cornwall, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, White-winged Scoter in County Mayo, Hume's Warbler, Long-billed Dowitcher, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, other Hume's Warblers in Somerset and Kent, Penduline Tit in Kent, single Lesser Scaups in Western Isles, Somerset and Surrey, King Eider in Cleveland, Red-breasted Goose in Argyll and two Cackling Geese in Western Isles.

Scarcity highlights included a Great Grey Shrike, a Lapland Bunting, a Pallas's Warbler, three Yellow-browed Warblers, 14 Shorelarks, 45 Waxwings, four Glossy Ibises, a Lady Amherst's Pheasant, two American Wigeon, five Green-winged Teal, six Surf Scoters, 14 Ring-necked Ducks, a Todd's Canada Goose, four Tundra Bean Geese, two Little Auks, a Sabine's Gull, a Ring-billed Gull, eight Glaucous Gulls, two Kumlien's Gulls and 14 Iceland Gulls.
