Rarities today comprised White-winged Scoters in both Lothian and County Mayo, Isabelline Wheatear in Devon, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Pallid Harrier and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in Kent and Norfolk, Penduline Tits in County Cork (2) and Somerset (2), Arctic Redpoll and Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim, Red-breasted Goose and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll, and King Eiders in Cleveland and Shetland Isles.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler and Glossy Ibis (Kent), Surf Scoter (Argyll), Snow Goose (Forth), two each of American Wigeon, Green-winged Teal, and Black Brant, five Yellow-browed Warblers, six Waxwings, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 25 Shorelarks.
