Rarities today comprised the Black-throated Thrush still in Lothian, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Hume's Warbler and two Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk, Olive-backed Pipit in Devon, Dusky Warbler in Wiltshire, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaup in Fife, and White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles.

Scarcities included Little Bunting and Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), Lapland Bunting (Lincolnshire), Glossy Ibis (Lancashire), two each of Ring-billed Gull, American Wigeon, and Green-winged Teal, three Surf Scoters, six Ring-necked Ducks, 13 Shorelarks, and a total of 150 Waxwings.
