Discoveries today included Pallid Swifts in Dorset at Swanage and Lincolnshire at Mablethorpe, a Red-rumped Swallow in Lothian at Gifford, a Dusky Warbler in North Yorkshire at Filey, and on the Isles of Scilly a Radde's Warbler together with two Dusky Warblers on St Mary's. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Isabelline Wheatears in both County Cork and Gwynedd, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Pallid Harrier in Cornwall, Pallid Swift in Moray, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on the Orkney Isles, and in Norfolk Long-billed Dowitcher and three Ferruginous Ducks. Scarcities included Sabine's Gull (Hertfordshire), Common Rosefinch (Western Isles), Green-winged Teal (Highland), Snow Goose and Black Brant (Norfolk), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Richard's Pipit, American Wigeon, and Shorelark, six Lapland Buntings, six Glossy Ibises, eight Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 85 Waxwings. |
