The higlight of the day was the discovery of a Pallid Harrier in Cornwall at Nanjizal. Elsewhere, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier, Dusky Warbler, and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Pallid Swift in Moray, Radde's Warbler and two Dusky Warblers on the Isles of Scilly, Spotted Sandpiper in County Kildare, and in Northumberland Bonaparte's Gull and Marbled Duck. Scarcities included Short-toed Lark (Cornwall), Serin (County Wexford), Wryneck (Dorset), Montagu's Harrier (County Kerry), Rough-legged Buzzard (North Yorkshire), Surf Scoter (Western Isles), Green-winged Teal (County Wicklow), Black Brant (Norfolk), two Pallas's Warblers, three Great Grey Shrikes, four each of both Sabine's Gull and Lapland Bunting, five Glossy Ibises, six Ring-necked Ducks, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 233 Waxwings. |
