Discoveries today included Red-rumped Swallow in Kent at Deal and Suffolk at Walberswick (3), White-billed Diver in Highland at Brora, and an in Shropshire an Azorean Yellow-legged Gull at Ellesmere. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American Buff-bellied Pipit and Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly, Pied Wheatear in Northumberland, Pallid Swift in Moray, Spotted Sandpiper in County Kildare, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Aberdeenshire, Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal, and two Red-rumped Swallows in Kent. Scarcities included Cory's Shearwater (Fife), American Golden Plover (County Londonderry), Richard's Pipit (Cambridgeshire), two each of American Wigeon, Great Grey Shrike, Green-winged Teal, Lapland Bunting, and Glossy Ibis, five Ring-necked Ducks, six of Great Shearwater and Sabine's Gull, and seven of Shorelark and Waxwing. |
