| New discoveries today included a Hume's Warbler on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, single Dusky Warblers at Lehanmore and on Cape Clear, both County Cork, a Booted or Sykes's Warbler on Lundy, Devon, a Red-flanked Bluetail on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd, a Red-throated Pipit over Sand Point, Somerset, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll at Lerwick, Shetland, single Pallid Harriers at Blakeney/Cley and Walcott, both Norfolk, single Lesser Scaups at Loch Bee, Western Isles and Dunfanaghy, County Donegal and a Richardson's Cackling Goose at Lissadell, County Sligo.
Pallid Swifts were at Catterline, Aberdeenshire, St Abb's Head, Borders (four), Howick, Norhumberland (three), Bempton Cliffs, Yorkshire (two) and West Runton, Norfolk. Lingering rarities seen today included the Alpine Accentor in Suffolk (briefly at roost early morning before flying off), Blackburnian Warbler, Wilson's Snipe and Red-rumped Swallow in Scilly, Red-eyed Vireo and Isabelline Wheatear in County Cork, Subalpine Warbler species and Eastern Stonechat species in Northumberland, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, single Lesser Yellowlegs in Orkney, Cleveland and Merseyside, single Long-billed Dowitchers in Cheshire and Norfolk, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, King Eider in Shetland, Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal, Red-breasted Goose and Cackling Goose in Western Isles (with another of the latter in Argyll) and Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry. |

| New discoveries today included a Dusky Warbler at Flamborough Head, Yorkshire and a White-billed Diver off North Ronaldsay, Orkney.
Pallid Swifts were recorded at Sheringham (four), Cromer (two), Horsey and Great Yarmouth, all Norfolk, Flamborough (two) and Whitby, both Yorkshire, Whitburn, County Durham and Marshside, Merseyside. The Alpine Accentor remained in Suffolk, as did the Blackburnian Warbler, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Red-throated Pipit and Red-rumped Swallow in Scilly, Isabelline Wheatear in County Cork, Rufous Turtle Dove and Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll in Shetland (with another of the latter in Orkney), Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Yorkshire, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Subalpine Warbler species and Eastern Stonechat species in Northumberland, Double-crested Cormorant in County Letrim, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Merseyside, Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry, Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll. |

| The first widely twitchable Alpine Accentor since 2002 was discovered at Slaughden, Suffolk early afternoon, where it remained around the Martello tower until dusk when it roosted on a pipe. Birds at Overstrand, Norfolk in 2004 and Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire in 2016 were evening finds and were each twitchable for just a couple of hours, whilst two others in 2016 and one in 2014 were seen only by their finders.
An Eastern Yellow Wagtail was at Kilnsea and a Red-rumped Swallow flew over Scalby Mills, both Yorkshire, an Eastern Stonechat species was at Budle Bay, Northumberland and a Lesser Yellowlegs was on Papa Westray, Orkney. The Pallid Swift influx gathered pace, with around 16 new individuals found today. Birds were seen at Foreness Point and Seasalter, both Kent, Berry Head, Devon, Winterton, Horsey, Overstrand, Sidestrand, West Runton, Great Yarmouth (two), Cromer (four) and Sheringham (up to six), all Norfolk, Whitby, Yorkshire, Hoylake, Wirral and Wexford, County Wexford. Other lingering rarities seen today included the Blackburnian Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Olive-backed Pipit and Red-rumped Swallow in Scilly, Isabelline Wheatear in County Cork, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Eastern Black Redstart in Orkney (with another of the former in Shetland), Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Merseyside, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland, Blyth's Reed Warbler and Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal, White-winged Scoter in Lothian and King Eider in Shetland. Scarcity highlights included a Richard's Pipit, a Short-toed Lark, a Barred Warbler, a Common Rosefinch, a Lapland Bunting, two Hoopoes, two Great Grey Shrikes, three Pallas's Warblers, three Red-breasted Flycatchers, five Shorelarks, five Waxwings, a Rough-legged Buzzard, six Glossy Ibises, an American Wigeon, three Ring-necked Ducks, a Tundra Bean Goose, a Black Brant, a Temminck's Stint, a Red-necked Phalarope, two Grey Phalaropes, three Pectoral Sandpipers, a Cory's Shearwater, 148 Great Shearwaters, nine Balearic Shearwaters, eight Pomarine Skuas, a Glaucous Gull and three Iceland Gulls. |

Discoveries today included Spotted Sandpiper in County Cork at Castletown Bearhaven, Red-rumped Swallow in Glamorgan at Cosmeston Lakes, and King Eider in Moray at Findhorn, whilst the Pallid Swift influx continued with birds identified in Ceredigion at Ynys-hir, Devon at Berry Head, Norfolk at Sheringham (2), Northumberland at Boulmer, and North Yorkshire at Scarborough. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Red-throated Pipit, Red-rumped Swallow, and Red-breasted Flycatcher were all on St Mary's, Olive-backed Pipit on Tresco, and on St Agnes Short-toed Lark and Wryneck. On the Shetland Isles the Rufous Turtle Dove, Olive-backed Pipit, and Great Grey Shrike were on Mainland, and Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on Out Skerries. Elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Isabelline Wheatear still in County Cork, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Black Scoter and Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland, Eastern Stonechat species in Cornwall, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Conwy and Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Merseyside, Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry, and Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal. |

Discoveries today included new Pallid Swifts in Kent at Foreness Point and Suffolk at Landguard, a Radde's Warbler in Dorset at Portland Bill, Dusky Warbler in North Yorkshire at Filey, Eastern Stonechat species in County Durham at South Shields, Red-throated Pipit in Dorset at Hengistbury Head, and a Red-breasted Goose on the Western Isles on North Uist. On the Isles of Scilly Wilson's Snipe, Red-rumped Swallow, and Red-breasted Flycatcher were on St Mary's, Red-throated Pipit and Short-toed Lark on St Agnes, and Olive-backed Pipit on Tresco, whilst seawatching from the islands produced at least 4,150 Great Shearwaters, seven Leach's Petrels, and two Cory's Shearwaters. On the Shetland Isles Rufous Turtle Dove, Red-flanked Bluetail, Blyth's Reed Warbler, and Barred Warbler were on Mainland, Red-flanked Bluetail on Yell, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Olive-backed Pipit on Out Skerries, and Bluethroat and Black-bellied Dipper on Fair Isle. Elsewhere lingering rarities comprised the Isabelline Wheatear still in County Cork, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Pallid Swifts in Norfolk (2) and Suffolk, Eastern Black Redstart on the Orkney Isles, Black Scoter and Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland, Eastern Stonechat species in Cornwall and Fife, Blyth's Reed Warbler in County Donegal, Dusky Warblers in Somerset and Suffolk, Long-billed Dowitchers in Conwy and Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Merseyside, and Ferruginous Ducks in County Donegal and Staffordshire, whilst in Lothian the White-winged Scoter returned to Musselburgh where it joined the King Eider. |

Discoveries today included an Isabelline Wheatear in County Cork at Toe Head, an Eastern Stonechat species in Cornwall on The Lizard, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, Red-rumped Swallow in Lincolnshire at Saltfleetby, Lesser Scaup in Perth and Kinross at Loch Leven, and Ferruginous Duck in County Donegal at Inch Island, whilst the influx of Pallid Swifts gathered pace with at least eight confirmed today: in Conwy, Norfolk (2), Suffolk, and East Yorkshire (4). On the Shetland Isles a Rufous Turtle Dove was new at Quendale with elsewhere on Mainland Red-flanked Bluetail, Blyth's Reed Warbler, King Eider, and Great Grey Shrike, on Yell Red-flanked Bluetail, on Out Skerries Olive-backed Pipit, and on Fair Isle Bluethroat, Hoopoe, and Black-bellied Dipper. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Red-rumped Swallow, and Red-throated Pipit on St Mary's, Short-toed Lark and Wryneck on St Agnes, and Common Rosefinch on St Martin's. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Wilson's Snipe, Pallid Swift, Red-throated Pipit, Radde's Warbler, and Richard's Pipit on St Mary's, Pallid Swift and Pallas's Warbler on Tresco, Short-toed Lark and Wryneck on St Agnes. On the Shetland Isles Desert Wheatear, Blyth's Reed Warbler, White-billed Diver, and Great Grey Shrike on Mainland, and a White-billed Diver on Yell. Incredible seawatching in Cornwall today where a Band-rumped Petrel species, Barolo Shearwater, and 3,000 Great Shearwaters passed The Lizard, a Band-rumped Petrel species and 800 Great Shearwaters off Porthgwarra, and 2,500 Great Shearwaters in Falmouth Bay. Other discoveries included a Black-winged Pratincole in Cheshire at Ince Marsh, Ross's Goose in Forth at Kinbuck, at least one Pallid Swift in County Louth at Cooley Point, Radde's Warblers in County Antrim on Rathlin Island, Northumberland on Holy Island, and East Sussex at Beachy Head, Arctic Warbler in County Donegal on Tory Island, Red-throated Pipit on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, Olive-backed Pipits in County Clare at Loop Head and Fife at Balcomie, Eastern Stonechat species in Fife at Crail, Subalpine Warbler species in Northumberland at Tynemouth, and on North Ronaldsay, Lesser Yellowlegs in Merseyside at Marshside, Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry at Lough Leane, White-rumped Sandpipers in Gwent at Goldcliff and County Wexford at Carne, and Red-rumped Swallows in East Yorkshire at Bempton (3) and North Yorkshire at Hunmanby Gap. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Pallid Swift, and Red-throated Pipit on St Mary's, Olive-backed Pipit on Tresco, and Short-toed Lark and Wryneck on St Agnes. | A Dusky Thrush was trapped and ringed in Lothian this afternoon, but wasn't seen after release. New Red-flanked Bluetails were at Kilminning, Fife and Bilsdean, Lothian, an Olive-backed Pipit was at Easington, Yorkshire, a Rustic Bunting was on Cape Clear, County Cork, a Blyth's Reed Warbler was on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, a Pallid Swift was over St Agnes, Scilly and a Long-billed Dowitcher was at Burton Mere Wetlands, Cheshire. Single Dusky Warblers were at Winterton, Norfolk, Flamborough, Yorkshire and Saltburn, Cleveland, whilst Radde's Warblers were at Mains of Usan, Angus, Newbiggin, Northumberland, Marsden, County Durham, Brotton, Cleveland and Beachy Head, Sussex.
Lingering rarities included Blackburnian Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Red-throated Pipit in Scilly, Myrtle Warbler in County Clare, Red-eyed Vireo in County Cork, Red-flanked Bluetail and Radde's Warbler in Fife, three Red-flanked Bluetails in Yorkshire, Red-flanked Bluetail in Northumberland, Red-flanked Bluetail in Lothian, Dusky Warbler in Suffolk, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Eastern Stonechat species, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and King Eider in Shetland, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Collared Pratincole in Gloucestershire, Spotted Sandpiper in Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cleveland and Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Whiskered Tern in Angus and and two Richardson's Cackling Geese in Argyll. |

On the Shetland Isles a Siberian Rubythroat was new at Quendale with elsewhere on Mainland Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll, Olive-backed Pipit, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Pallas's Warbler, Barred Warbler, and two Red-flanked Bluetails, Red-flanked Bluetail on Yell, Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll and Black-bellied Dipper on Fair Isle, and Little Bunting on Out Skerries. On the Isles of Scilly the Blackburnian Warbler remained on Bryher, two Wrynecks on St Agnes, and on St Mary's Wilson's Snipe, American Buff-bellied Pipit, Little Bunting, Sabine's Gull, two Barred Warblers, three Cory's Shearwaters, and 54 Great Shearwaters.
