| Rarities today comprised the Greater Yellowlegs still in County Kildare,
Least Tern in County Dublin, Turkestan Shrike and Black-browed Albatross together in East Yorkshire,
Least Sandpiper in Cornwall, Stilt Sandpiper in Lincolnshire, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll,
Squacco Heron and White-rumped Sandpiper in West Sussex, Gull-billed Tern and
Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in both Hampshire and Norfolk, at least eight Bee-eaters still at the nest in Norfolk, and
Wilson's Petrels logged at sea off County Cork (9), at sea off the Isles of Scilly (3), and from land at Pendeen Watch, Cornwall. Scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), American Wigeon (County Londonderry), Ring-necked Duck (Anglesey), two Temminck's Stints, three each of both Purple Heron and Pectoral Sandpiper, 11 Glossy Ibises, 30 Great Shearwaters, and a total of 33 Cory's Shearwaters. |
