Sunday 19th June 2022
The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Pacific Swift on the Shetland Isles at Sumburgh Head, Mainland from mid afternoon until late into the evening.

Elsewhere, a Little Bittern was new at Ladywalk, Warwickshire, as was a White-billed Diver in Highland at Embo, and a Bee-eater seen briefly in Merseyside at Lunt Meadows. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American Black Tern in Northumberland, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Norfolk and Nottinghamshire, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Lothian, Red-rumped Swallow on the Orkney Isles, and both the breeding Black-winged Stilts in South Yorkshire, and Bee-eaters in Norfolk.

Scarcities incluced Golden Oriole (Isles of Scilly), American Wigeon (Forth), three Rose-coloured Starlings, and a total of 23 Glossy Ibises.

Significant late news concerned a near-adult Black-browed Albatross on Thursday on the Shetland Isles at sea off Unst.
