| Rarities today comprised the Least Tern again in County Dublin, Black-browed Albatross still in East Yorkshire, both Collared Pratincole and
Black Kite in Devon, Little Bittern on the Isles of Scilly, American Black Tern
in Northumberland, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Norfolk and Nottinghamshire,
Iberian Chiffchaff in London, King Eider in Lothian, Ferruginous Duck
in Staffordshire, and two Bee-eaters in Suffolk. Scarcities included Purple Heron (South Yorkshire), Ring-billed Gull (Western Isles), Marsh Warbler and Common Rosefinch (Shetland Isles), Grey-headed Wagtail (County Donegal), three Rose-coloured Starlings, and a total of 12 Glossy Ibises. |
