| At least two new Red-rumped Swallows were in Scilly, with one on Tresco and two on St Martin's in the evening. Another was at Westwood Pool, Worcestershire, with the lingering bird still at Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire. Two White-billed Divers were in South Nesting Bay, Shetland.
Other lingering rarities included the Blue-winged Teal in Cambridgeshire, Black Kite in Isle of Wight, Dusky Warbler and Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian and White-billed Diver in Moray. Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Little Bunting, three Wrynecks, four Hoopoes, an American Wigeon, two Ring-necked Ducks, three Green-winged Teals, four Surf Scoters, a Tundra Bean Goose, a Black Brant, a Honey Buzzard, two Pectoral Sandpipers, three Dotterel, three Purple Herons, 26 Glossy Ibises, 21 Pomarine Skuas, two Glaucous Gulls and four Iceland Gulls. |
