New discoveries today included two Lesser Scaups at Tucklesholme Quarry, Staffordshire, a Black-winged Stilt at Marshside, Merseyside, single Red-rumped Swallows over Hunmanby Gap, Yorkshire and Colt Crag Reservoir, Northumberland, an Alpine Swift over Bempton Cliffs, Yorkshire, Black Kites over Widdrington, Northumberland, Beddington, London and over Minsmere, Suffolk, the latter tracked south to Mistley, Essex, and another Bonaparte's Gull at South Slob, County Wexford.
Lingering rarities included the Crag Martin in Scilly, Belted Kingfisher in Lancashire, Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, Blue-winged Teal in Cambridgeshire, King Eiders in Lothian and Highland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Clyde (two), Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Hume's Warbler in Sussex, Dusky Warbler in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, County Wexford and County Cork, Pacific Golden Plover in Suffolk and White-billed Diver in Aberdeenshire. |
