Rarities today comprised the Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing in Lincolnshire,
White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Baikal Teal in East Yorkshire, Ross's Goose in Aberdeenshire,
Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warbler in London, Bonaparte's Gull
in West Sussex, King Eider in Highland, Lesser Scaup in Dumfries and Galloway, and
Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Western Isles. Scarcities included Yellow-browed Warbler (Dorset), Lapland Bunting (Isle of Man), Kumlien's Gull (Cornwall), two each of both Little Bunting and Hoopoe, three of Ring-billed Gull, Surf Scoter, and Ring-necked Duck, four Shorelarks, five Snow Geese, seven Green-winged Teals, and a total of 15 Glossy Ibises. Incoming spring migrants included 123 Garganey, three Ring Ouzels, 11 Ospreys, Reed Warbler (Devon), and Sedge Warbler (West Sussex). |
