Lingering rarities still present today included the Belted Kingfisher in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing in Lincolnshire, American Coot in County Wexford, Baikal Teal in Yorkshire, White-winged Scoter and King Eider in Lothian, Black Duck in County Mayo, Lesser Scaups in Clyde (two) and Argyll (three), Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, Richardson's Cackling Geese in County Sligo (up to four) and County Mayo, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Galway and Dusky Warbler in London.
Scarcity highlights included a Serin, two Rose-coloured Starlings, three Great Grey Shrikes, four Waxwings, four Shorelarks, ten Lapland Buntings, a Little Auk, 37 Glossy Ibises, an American Wigeon, two Green-winged Teals, two Surf Scoters, 19 Ring-necked Ducks, a Todd's Canada Goose, a Black Brant, three Lesser Snow Geese, two Glaucous Gulls, four Ring-billed Gulls and 15 Iceland Gulls. |
