A Northern Harrier was discovered at Lough Boora Parklands, County Offaly today.
Lingering rarities included the White-tailed Lapwing in Yorkshire, single Pied Wheatears in County Durham and Kent, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Radde's Warbler in Scilly, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire, King Eider in Moray and two Red-breasted Geese in Essex. Scarcity highlights included a Barred Warbler, a Little Bunting, a Rose-coloured Starling, two Great Grey Shrikes, two Waxwings, five Lapland Buntings, 11 Shorelarks, two Glossy Ibises, a Pectoral Sandpiper, two Grey Phalaropes, two Rough-legged Buzzards, a Green-winged Teal, five Surf Scoters, five Ring-necked Ducks, three Snow Geese, 46 Taiga Bean Geese, two Iceland Gulls, four Glaucous Gulls, a Pomarine Skua, a Great Shearwater and 471 Little Auks (461 of which were off Fife Ness in Fife). |
