  Around the Shetland Isles today a Paddyfield Warbler was new on Foula, with a Red-flanked Bluetail found on Whalsay, Bluethroat and Marsh Warbler on Fetlar, Golden Oriole on Fair Isle, Little Bunting on Unst, King Eider, Rose-coloured Starling, and Pectoral Sandpiper all on Mainland, three each of both Barred Warbler and Glaucous Gull, four Common Rosefinches, and six Yellow-browed Warblers. Meanwhile on the Isles of Scilly Western Bonelli's Warbler and Common Rosefinch were located on St Martin's, Baird's Sandpiper, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, and Rose-coloured Starling all remained on Bryher, Balearic Woodchat Shrike on St Mary's, and two each of Pectoral Sandpiper, Red-backed Shrike, and Wryneck around the islands.

Rarities elsewhere comprised the White-tailed Lapwing still in East Yorkshire, Forster's Tern in County Louth, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Snowy Owl on the Western Isles, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Argyll, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Wexford, and Bonaparte's Gulls in both Devon and Kent.

In Nottinghamshire the stint identified yesterday as a Red-necked Stint remained at Misson but was considered to be a Little Stint by many observers.

Saturday 25th September 2021  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Red-necked Stint in Nottinghamshire at Misson. The first Nearctic landbird of the autumn was a Rose-breasted Grosbeak on the Shetland Isles on Unst at Norwick, with elsewhere around the archipelago a Blyth's Reed Warbler on Fetlar, and on the Mainland a Pallid Harrier briefly at Toft, and a King Eider still at Wadbister Voe.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the White-tailed Lapwing in East Yorkshire, American Buff-bellied Pipit on the Western Isles, Red-breasted Goose in Lincolnshire, Balearic Woodchat Shrike in Isles of Scilly, and Bonaparte's Gulls in both County Down and Kent.

Nearctic waders comprised Semipalmated Sandpiper still in Argyll, Baird's Sandpipers in both County Cork and the Isles of Scilly, Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Wexford, four Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and a total of 34 Pectoral Sandpipers.

Other scarcities included Purple Heron (West Sussex), American Wigeon (Cambridgeshire), Hoopoe (Lothian), Spotted Crake (Lincolnshire), two each of Ring-necked Duck and Dotterel, three of Red-backed Shrike, Rose-coloured Starling, and Surf Scoter, four Lapland Buntings, five Yellow-browed Warblers, seven Common Rosefinches, eight Glossy Ibises, and nine Long-tailed Skuas.

Friday 24th September 2021  
  A King Eider was found in Burghead Bay, Moray today.

Lingering rarities included the White-tailed Lapwing and Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, American Buff-bellied Pipit and Snowy Owl in Western Isles, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Wilson's Phalarope in Cheshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in Argyll, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, Baird's Sandpiper and Balearic Woodchat Shrike in Scilly (with another of the former in County Cork), Red-breasted Goose in Lincolnshire and King Eider in Shetland.

Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, a Red-breasted Flycatcher, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Lapland Bunting, two Barred Warblers, two Wrynecks, four Rose-coloured Starlings, five Common Rosefinches, two Honey Buzzards, two Purple Herons, nine Glossy Ibises, two American Golden Plovers, three Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 30 Pectoral Sandpipers, seven Great Shearwaters, nine Leach's Petrels, two Sabine's Gulls, two Roseate Terns, three Long-tailed Skuas, five Pomarine Skuas, a Glaucous Gull, three Ring-necked Ducks and a Surf Scoter.

Thursday 23rd September 2021  
  New discoveries today included a Red-breasted Goose at Wrangle, Lincolnshire, single Semipalmated Sandpipers at Killimer, County Clare and at Clachan, Tiree, Argyll, and a Red-rumped Swallow flew over Mundesley, Norfolk.

Lingering rarities seen today included the American Buff-bellied Pipit in Western Isles, White-tailed Lapwing in Yorkshire, Wilson's Phalarope in Cheshire /Flintshire, Baird's Sandpipers in Scilly and County Kerry, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Wexford, Black-browed Albatross in Yorkshire, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Forster's Tern in County Louth, two King Eiders in Shetland and Balearic Woodchat Shrike in Scilly.

Scarcity highlights included a Little Bunting, a Lapland Bunting, a Yellow-browed Warbler, two Hoopoes, two Red-backed Shrikes, three Red-breasted Flycatchers, three Wrynecks, three Barred Warblers, four Common Rosefinches, six Rose-coloured Starlings, an American Golden Plover, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, 25 Pectoral Sandpipers, a Spotted Crake, a Honey Buzzard, a Purple Heron, six Glossy Ibises, two Ring-necked Ducks, a Bean Goose species, a Great Shearwater, nine Balearic Shearwaters, 10 Leach's Petrels, 12 Sabine's Gulls, a Roseate Tern, four Long-tailed Skuas and 27 Pomarine Skuas.

Wednesday 22nd September 2021  
  Discoveries today were headlined by an American Buff-bellied Pipit on St Kilda, Outer Hebrides, and a Fea's or Desertas Petrel passing Annagh Head, County Mayo.

Elsewhere, lingering rarities confirmed as still present today included the White-tailed Lapwing in East Yorkshire, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Balearic Woodchat Shrike on the Isles of Scilly, and two King Eiders on the Shetland Isles.

Nearctic waders comprised a Semipalmated Sandpiper new in Argyll on Coll, Wilson's Phalarope in Cheshire, both Baird's Sandpiper and Buff-breasted Sandpiper on the Isles of Scilly, Baird's Sandpiper in County Kerry, Long-billed Dowitcher still in Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, and a total of 27 Pectoral Sandpipers.

Other scarcities included Woodchat Shrike and Yellow-browed Warbler (Shetland), Hoopoe (Glamorgan), Spotted Crake (Cheshire), Red-backed Shrike (Suffolk), Dotterel (Devon), Ring-billed Gull (County Galway), two Barred Warblers, three Long-tailed Skuas, four each of Common Rosefinch, Wryneck, and Sabine's Gull, six of Rose-coloured Starling and Lapland Bunting, eight Glossy Ibises, and 50 Great Shearwaters.

Tuesday 21st September 2021  
  Rarities today included the White-tailed Lapwing still in East Yorkshire, Pacific Golden Plover again in Lincolnshire at Frampton Marsh, Forster's Tern still in County Louth, Snowy Owl in Aberdeenshire, Squacco Heron in Flintshire, Balearic Woodchat Shrike on the Isles of Scilly, Red-rumped Swallow briefly on the Isle of Wight, Bonaparte's Gull in County Down, and on the Shetland Isles Rustic Bunting, Blyth's Reed Warbler, and two King Eiders.

Nearctic waders today comprised a Wilson's Phalarope new in Cheshire at Burton Mere Wetlands, Lesser Yellowlegs still in County Wexford, American Golden Plover on the Orkney Isles, Long-billed Dowitchers in both County Londonderry and Norfolk, two Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and a total of 30 Pectoral Sandpipers.

Other scarcities included Purple Heron (Kent), Melodious Warbler (Scilly), Red-breasted Flycatcher (Shetland), Hoopoe (Glamorgan), Montagu's Harrier (Dorset), Red-backed Shrike (Cornwall), Long-tailed Skua (East Yorkshire), Lapland Bunting (Orkney), Ring-billed Gull (County Galway), two each of Barred Warbler, Common Rosefinch, and Yellow-browed Warbler, three Dotterel, seven of Rose-coloured Starling and Wryneck, and eight Glossy Ibises.

Saturday 18th September 2021  
  Rarities today included White-tailed Lapwing and Black-browed Albatross both still in East Yorkshire, a Laughing Gull in Cornwall at Gwithian, Squacco Heron still in Flintshire, Pacific Golden Plover in Northumberland, Snowy Owl in Aberdeenshire, Greenish Warbler on the Shetland Isles at Sumburgh, Bonaparte's Gulls in both County Down and Kent, and a Red-throated Pipit in Kent at Sandwich Bay albeit only briefly.

Nearctic waders today comprised Baird's Sandpipers in County Cork, County Galway, Isles of Scilly, and the Western Isles (2), Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, County Waterford, and County Wexford, American Golden Plover on the Orkney Isles, seven Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and 40 Pectoral Sandpipers; including nine together at Tacumshin, County Wexford.

Other scarcities included Melodious Warbler (Cornwall), Ortolan Bunting (Devon), Woodchat Shrike and Yellow-browed Warbler (Shetland), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Green-winged Teal (Powys), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Bluethroat, and Long-tailed Skua, three of both Hoopoe and Red-backed Shrike, four Red-breasted Flycatchers, five Glossy Ibises, six Dotterel and Lapland Bunting, seven Barred Warblers, nine Common Rosefinches, and a total of 13 Wrynecks.

Friday 17th September 2021  
  New discoveries today included an Isabelline Wheatear at Easington, Yorkshire, a Booted Warbler on Fetlar, Shetland, a Semipalmated Sandpiper at Boulmer and a Pacific Golden Plover on Holy Island, both Northumberland, a Baird's Sandpiper at Timoleague and another on Haulbowline, both County Cork, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Tacumshin, County Wexford and another at Lochmaddy, Western Isles, a Pallid Harrier at Toe Head, County Cork, a Wilson's Petrel off Newquay, Cornwall and a Lesser Scaup on North Ronaldsay, Orkney.

Lingering rarities included the White-tailed Lapwing in Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, Baird's Sandpipers in County Cork and Western Isles, Balearic Woodchat Shrike in Scilly, King Eider in Shetland and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent.

Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, a Bluethroat, an Icterine Warbler, two Hoopoes, two Common Rosefinches, seven Wrynecks, seven Lapland Buntings, two Purple Herons, a Dotterel, an American Golden Plover, five Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 35 Pectoral Sandpipers, a Ring-necked Duck, a Honey Buzzard, four Glossy Ibises, a Glaucous Gull, four Long-tailed Skuas and six Pomarine Skuas.
