  A Calandra Lark was discovered on Fair Isle, Shetland. This will be the eighth record for the island, and the 22nd for Britain. A Red-throated Pipit was also on the island, with a Hooded Merganser on Stanevatstoe Loch, Mainland and a Rustic Bunting on Foula. Nearby, a Snowy Owl was on Papa Westray, Orkney, with, further south, a Bonaparte's Gull at Holme Pierrepont, Nottinghamshire and a Red-rumped Swallow at Barnes, London.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Northern Mockingbird in Northumberland, Tawny Pipit in Dorset, Iberian Chiffchaff in Suffolk, Eastern Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, American Herring Gull in Cornwall, Bonaparte's Gull in Worcestershire, Hooded Merganser in Angus, Blue-winged Teal in Cornwall, Whiskered Tern in Dorset and White-billed Diver in Aberdeenshire.
