  Rarities today comprised the Northern Mockingbird still in Devon at Exmouth, White-throated Sparrow still in East Sussex at Barcombe Cross, Rustic Bunting in Surrey, Spotted Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in North Yorkshire, two King Eiders together in County Donegal, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both County Waterford and County Wexford.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Dorset), Ring-billed Gull (County Wicklow), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Kumlien's Gull (Cambridgeshire), two each of both Little Bunting and Black Brant, three of Great Grey Shrike and Lapland Bunting, five Glossy Ibises, six Ring-necked Ducks, 17 Waxwings, and a total of 43 Smew.
