Black Scoter in Northumberland, King Eider in Pembrokeshire, Rustic Bunting in Surrey,
Dusky Warblers in both Cornwall and Merseyside, two Richardson's Cackling Geese
together on the Western Isles, and in Somerset three Penduline Tits,
Eastern Yellow Wagtail, and Kentish Plover. Scarcities included Richard's Pipit (West Sussex), Rose-coloured Starling (Anglesey), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Hoopoe (Gwent), two each of Great Grey Shrike, Surf Scoter, Green-winged Teal, and Black Brant, three of both Little Bunting and Yellow-browed Warbler, six of Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, 10 Waxwings, and a total of 31 Lapland Buntings. |

Richardson's Cackling Geese in both Argyll and Western Isles (2). Scarcities included Richard's Pipit (West Sussex), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Rough-legged Buzzard (Moray), Hoopoe (Gwent), Green-winged Teal (Western Isles), two each of Little Bunting, Rose-coloured Starling, and Grey Phalarope, three Great Grey Shrikes, five Yellow-browed Warblers, six Ring-necked Ducks, eight Waxwings, nine Glossy Ibises, and a total of 12 Lapland Buntings. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Rustic Bunting in Fife at Kingsbarns, whilst a Lesser Yellowlegs was new on South Uist, Western Isles. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Double-crested Cormorant still present in County Kerry, Belted Kingfisher still in County Cork, Hudsonian Godwit still in Fife, Pied-billed Grebe in Shropshire, Bufflehead in County Down, Pacific Golden Plover in Moray, Rustic Bunting in Surrey, Penduline Tits in Nottinghamshire (2) and Somerset (4), Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Waterford, and Dusky Warblers in both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Scarcities included Richard's Pipit (West Sussex), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Hoopoe (Gwent), Surf Scoter (Western Isles), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Green-winged Teal (Dorset), two each of both Little Bunting and Ring-necked Duck, three Rose-coloured Starlings, four Glossy Ibises, seven Yellow-browed Warblers, and 14 each of Waxwing and Lapland Bunting. |

| The highlight of the day was news of Gyr, Black Duck and Richardson's Cackling Goose all in County Mayo on The Mullet, and in England five
Penduline Tits comprising four together in Somerset at Steart and one in Nottinghamshire at Langford Lowfields. Rarities elsewhere were the Double-crested Cormorant still in County Kerry, both Belted Kingfisher and Pacific Diver in County Cork, Sociable Lapwing in Cornwall, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Pied-billed Grebe in Shropeshire, Bufflehead County in Down, Rustic Bunting in Surrey, Eastern Yellow Wagtails in both Somerset and Suffolk, Dusky Warblers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, King Eider in Pembrokeshire, Spotted Sandpiper in County Dublin, and Lesser Yellowlegs in Norfolk. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Scilly), Red-breasted Flycatcher (Cornwall), Richard's Pipit (West Sussex), Rose-coloured Starling (Anglesey), Rough-legged Buzzard (North Yorkshire), Surf Scoter (County Cork), Lesser Snow Goose (Highland), Grey Phalarope (Northumberland), Kumlien's Gull (Orkney Isles), two each of Little Bunting, Ring-billed Gull, American Wigeon, and Green-winged Teal, three of both Black Brant and Waxwing, seven of Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, nine Yellow-browed Warblers, and a total of 15 Lapland Buntings. |

An adult drake Bufflehead was found at Quoile Pondage in Co.Down. Otherwise, a Dusky Warbler at Donna Nook in Lincolnshire was the only new rarity found today. The assemblage of continuing rarities included the Double-crested Cormorant in Co.Kerry, Belted Kingfisher in Co.Cork, Hudsonian Godwit in Fife, Pied-billed Grebe in Shropshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Norfolk and North Yorkshire, Rustic Bunting in Surrey, and Eastern Yellow Wagtails in Suffolk and Somerset. The best of the other national news included Richard's Pipit (Sussex), two Little Buntings, Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Great Grey Shrike (Suffolk), American Wigeon (Northumberland), two Green-winged Teal, seven Ring-necked Ducks, three Black Brants and 12 Glossy Ibises. |

| A Spotted Sandpiper at Balbriggan, County Dublin was a new discovery today.

already for a week. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Belted Kingfisher in County Cork, Crag Martin in Kent, Sociable Lapwing and Pacific Diver in Cornwall, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Pied-billed Grebe in Shropshire, Snowy Owl on the Western Isles, Rustic Bunting in Surrey, King Eider in Pembrokeshire, Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Somerset, Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly, White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles, and in North Yorkshire both Long-billed Dowitcher and Lesser Yellowlegs. Scarcities included Red-breasted Flycatcher and Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Rose-coloured Starling (Anglesey), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Parrot Crossbill (Northamptonshire), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Little Bunting, Great Grey Shrike, Waxwing, and Grey Phalarope, five of Ring-necked Duck, Lapland Bunting, and Black Brant, six Glossy Ibises, and a total of 10 Yellow-browed Warblers. |

still in Cornwall, Crag Martin in Kent, Pied-billed Grebe in Shropshire, Rustic Bunting in Surrey,
Eastern Yellow Wagtail in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in both Norfolk and North Yorkshire, and Dusky Warblers in Kent and the Isles of Scilly (2). Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Dorset), Sabine's Gull (Kent), Kumlien's Gull (Cambridgeshire), Grey Phalarope (Merseyside), Black-bellied Dipper (Shetland Isles), two each of Little Bunting, Rose-coloured Starling, and Green-winged Teal, three of both Great Grey Shrike and Ring-necked Duck, six Lapland Buntings, and a total of 11 Glossy Ibises. Significant late news from yesterday concerned a Pine Bunting in Argyll on Tiree at Balephuil, and a Bufflehead in County Clare. |
