| New discoveries today included a Lesser Grey Shrike at Horsey, Norfolk, an Eastern Subalpine Warbler on Papa Westray, Orkney, a Subalpine Warbler species at Flamborough Head, Yorkshire, a Black-headed Bunting on the Isle of Gigha, Argyll, an Alpine Swift at Burwick, Orkney and a White-billed Diver first seen at Whitburn, County Durham was tracked north along the coast to Newbiggin, Northumberland.
Lingering rarities included the Black-headed Bunting in Yorkshire, Great Reed Warblers in Yorkshire and Scilly, Iberian Chiffchaffs in Suffolk, Yorkshire and Lancashire, Savi's Warbler in Suffolk, Gull-billed Tern in County Kerry, Squacco Heron in Hampshire, Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Black Duck in Highland and Ferruginous Duck in Yorkshire. Scarcity highlights included a Red-spotted Bluethroat, a Hoopoe, a Short-toed Lark, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Serin, a Common Rosefinch, a Woodchat Shrike, a Great Grey Shrike, two Red-backed Shrikes, two Melodious Warblers, two Icterine Warblers, two Marsh Warblers, two Golden Orioles, a Purple Heron, a Glossy Ibis, a Red-necked Phalarope, an American Wigeon, a Ring-necked Duck, three Honey Buzzards, an Iceland Gull, six Cory's Shearwaters and 16 Balearic Shearwaters. |

| New discoveries today included a male Black-headed Bunting at Flamborough Head, Yorkshire, a Greenish Warbler at Lowestoft, Suffolk, a Broad-billed Sandpiper at Tacumshin, County Wexford, an Alpine Swift at Corsewall Point, Dumfries and Galloway and Bee-eaters at Eastbourne, Sussex (three) and Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire (two).
Lingering rarities included the Baikal Teal in Northumberland, Black Duck and King Eider in Highland, Gull-billed Tern in County Kerry, Black Stork in Aberdeenshire, Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford, Great Reed Warbler in Yorkshire and Iberian Chiffchaffs in Lancashire and Suffolk. Scarcity highlights included a Great Grey Shrike, a Red-backed Shrike, a Melodious Warbler, a Marsh Warbler, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Wryneck, a Serin, two Icterine Warblers, a Purple Heron, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Ring-necked Duck, two American Wigeon, two Honey Buzzards and a Glaucous Gull. |

An adult Franklin's Gull was new on Fair Isle, ending up on terra firma briefly after the initial encounter far offshore from a boat. There was an unconfirmed report of an Audouin's Gull past Rhos Point in Conwy. In Aberdeenshire, a Blyth's Reed Warbler showed well at Collieston, while a Greenish Warbler was on Bardsey Island in Gwynedd. A Bee-eater flew over Horsey in Norfolk. Continuing their stays were the Baikal Teal in Northumberland, Black Duck in Highland, Ferruginous Duck in West Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in West Yorkshire, Red-footed Falcon in Co.Wexford, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Forster's Tern in Co.Galway, and two Savi's Warblers and Iberian Chiffchaff in Suffolk. Today's supporting cast included Marsh Warbler (Suffolk), Montagu's Harrier (Suffolk), Short-toed Lark (Scilly), Grey-headed Wagtail (Shetland), nine Red-backed Shrikes, Red-breasted Flycatcher (Isle of Man), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), Golden Oriole (Cornwall), three Icterine Warblers, Melodious Warbler (Scilly), two Rose-coloured Starlings, Serin (Kent), two Common Rosefinches, Purple Heron (Norfolk), two Ring-necked Ducks, Glossy Ibis (Cornwall) and Iceland Gull (Western Isles). |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Baillon's Crake in Northumberand at Seahouses where it showed intermittently
during the evening. New rarities elsewhere comprised a Subalpine Warbler in Northumberland on Holy Island, a
Blyth's Reed Warbler on the Shetland Isles on Fair Isle, both Red-rumped Swallow
and Bee-eater in East Yorkshire briefly, and at sea off County Cork the first
Wilson's Petrel of the summer. Lingerig rarities confirmed as still present were the Baikal Teal and Broad-billed Sandpiper in Northumberland, Little Bittern, Thrush Nightingale and Rustic Bunting all on the Shetland Isles, Great Reed Warbler, Iberian Chiffchaff and Ferruginous Duck in West Yorkshire, two Savi's Warblers and an Iberian Chiffchaff in Suffolk, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in Highland and Iberian Chiffchaff in Lancashire. Scarcities included Melodious Warbler, Short-toed Lark and Golden Oriole (Isles of Scilly), Serin (Kent), two Common Rosefinches and Red-backed Shrike (Shetland Isles), Purple Heron (Norfolk), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Montagu's Harrier (Suffolk), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), Glossy Ibis (Gwent), two each of both Icterine Warbler and Ring-necked Duck, four Marsh Warblers, and three Rose-coloured Starlings (bringing the influx total since 24th May to 12). Late news concerned a Blyth's Reed Warbler singing yesterday near Gartocharn, Clyde. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Little Bittern in Lincolnshire at North Thoresby whilst other new rarities comprised a
Thrush Nightingale on the Shetland Isles on Fair Isle, a Black Stork briefly in Aberdeenshire at Loch of Strathbeg, a
Gull-billed Tern in County Kerry at Smerwick Harbour and a Greenish Warbler in Cornwall at Lizard. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were both the Great Knot and Sardinian Warbler on the Shetland Isles, Baikal Teal in Northumberland, Broad-billed Sandpiper in East Yorkshire, territorial Great Reed Warbler in West Yorkshire, Black Duck, Blue-winged Teal and King Eider all in Highland, Iberian Chiffchaff and two Savi's Warblers in Suffolk, and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (County Kerry), Serin (Kent), Purple Heron (Norfolk), Golden Oriole (Isles of Scilly), Ring-necked Duck (Essex), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), two each of both Melodious Warbler and Common Rosefinch, and three Rose-coloured Starlings (bringing the total so far this summer to eight). |

| An exciting day was headlined by a Calandra Lark on the Western Isles on North Uist, the reappearance of the
American Royal Tern now in Cornwall between Hayle and Carbis Bay albeit elusive, and the unexpected relocation of the
Baikal Teal from Forth to East Chevington, Northumberland. Discoveries elsewhere included a
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon at Exmouth and Broad-billed Sandpipers in East Yorkshire at Kilnsea and two together in Norfolk at Heacham. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were Great Knot, Sardinian Warbler and Little Bittern all on the Shetland Isles, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Black Duck, Blue-winged Teal and King Eider in Highland, Broad-billed Sandpiper and Iberian Chiffchaff in Suffolk, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Cleveland and West Yorkshire, Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford and Bee-eater in East Yorkshire. Scarcities included Melodious Warbler, Short-toed Lark and Golden Oriole (all on the Isles of Scilly), White-winged Black Tern and Ring-billed Gull (County Kerry), Serin and Hoopoe (Kent), Purple Heron (Norfolk), American Golden Plover (County Antrim), Temminck's Stint (Lincolnshire), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, four Common Rosefinches and a total of seven Long-tailed Skuas. Significant late news concerned a Squacco Heron yesterday in Hampshire at Testwood Lakes. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Roller in West Yorkshire at Crimsworth Dean whilst other new rarities comprised a
Little Bittern on the Shetland Isles on Foula, an Alpine Swift in County Dublin at Howth,
a Ferruginous Duck in North Yorkshire at Hay-a-Park and a Gull-billed Tern briefly
at Sheringham, Norfolk. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Great Knot and Sardinian Warbler both still on the Shetland Isles, Broad-billed Sandpiper and Savi's Warbler in Suffolk, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Kerry, Black Duck, Blue-winged Teal and King Eider all in Highland, Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford, territorial Great Reed Warblers in both Cleveland and West Yorkshire, Iberian Chiffchaffs in Lancashire and Suffolk, and a Bee-eater again in East Yorkshire. The Baikal Teal had relocated overnight 203 miles northwest from Hornsea Mere, East Yorkshire to Skinflats, Forth. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling (Cleveland), White-winged Black Tern (County Kerry), Serin (Kent), Red-backed Shrike (Isles of Scilly), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), Purple Heron (Norfolk), Temminck's Stint (County Durham), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), two each of both Golden Oriole and Ring-necked Duck, and a total of five Common Rosefinches. |

Rustic Bunting on Unst, Semipalmated Sandpiper both in Aberdeenshire on the Ythan Estuary and in County Kerry at Ballinskelligs, a
Broad-billed Sandpiper in Suffolk at Minsmere before relocating to Orford Ness, a male
Little Bittern singing in Dorset at Lodmoor, a Bonaparte's Gull in Carmarthenshire at Llanelli with brief
Red-rumped Swallow in Devon and Bee-eater in County Carlow. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Great Knot on the Shetland Isles, the Myrtle Warbler in Pembrokeshire albeit only briefly, Baikal Teal in East Yorkshire, Black Duck in Highland, two Savi's Warblers together in Suffolk, Great Reed Warblers in both Cleveland and West Yorkshire, territorial Iberian Chiffchaffs in Lancashire, Pembrokeshire and Suffolk, and a Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Cleveland), Icterine Warbler (Shetland Isles), Serin (Kent), Temminck's Stint (North Yorkshire), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), Ring-necked Duck (Dorset), Glossy Ibis (Merseyside), two migrant Red-necked Phalaropes and three Common Rosefinches. Significant late news concerned the retrospective reidentification of Cretzschmar's Bunting present at Minsmere, Suffolk yesterday although disappointingly it could not be relocated there today. |

| A Myrtle Warbler was discovered on Ramsey Island, Pembrokeshire today, the second for both Wales and the island. A Greenish Warbler was nearby on Skokholm, whilst a Gull-billed Tern was at Fishtail Lagoon, Hampshire briefly and a Bonaparte's Gull was at Cross Lough, County Mayo.
Lingering rarities included the Great Knot in Shetland, Iberian Chiffchaffs in Suffolk, Pembrokeshire and Lancashire, Great Reed Warblers in Yorkshire and Cleveland, two Savi's Warblers in Suffolk and Black Duck and King Eider in Highland. Scarcity highlights included a Hoopoe, a Great Grey Shrike, a Serin, a Golden Oriole, two Common Rosefinches, a Montagu's Harrier, a Purple Heron, a Glossy Ibis, a Spotted Crake, two Red-necked Phalaropes, two Temminck's Stints, four Honey Buzzards, a Ring-necked Duck and an Iceland Gull. |

In Shetland, a Great Knot was seen arriving over the sea at Skaw, Unst, and went on to show at close quarters on the beach there for the rest of the day. This wasn't the only rare wader to be found today, with a Broad-billed Sandpiper on the Ythan Estuary in Aberdeenshire and Lesser Yellowlegs at Castle Espie WWT in Co.Down. The Western Isles hosted yet another Iberian Chiffchaff, on North Uist. A Black Kite flew west over Reculver in Kent and a Bee-eater flew over Bempton Cliffs RSPB in East Yorkshire. Staying on was the Baikal Teal in East Yorkshire, Black Duck and Blue-winged Teal in Highland, Red-footed Falcon in Co.Wexford, Savi's Warblers in Gwent and Suffolk; Great Reed Warblers in Cleveland, West Yorkshire and Scilly; and Iberian Chiffchaffs in Lancashire, Suffolk and Pembrokeshire. Today's scarcity roll-call involved three Night Herons (together over Skokholm, Pembrokeshire), Short-toed Lark (Orkney), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), Serin (Kent), Hoopoe (Dorset), Purple Heron (Norfolk), Bluethroat, two Temminck's Stints, White Stork, two Glossy Ibises, Lapland Bunting, Long-tailed Skua (Ayrshire), two Pomarine Skuas, two Glaucous Gulls, Iceland Gull, and single migrants of Dotterel and Honey Buzzard. |
