  Rarities today comprised a Pacifc Diver still in Cornwall, Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warbler and Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Lesser Scaup in both Somerset and Staffordshire.

Scarcities included Serin (Cornwall), Rose-coloured Starling (Conwy), Great Grey Shrike (Staffordshire), Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), two Surf Scoters, five each of Rough-legged Buzzard, American Wigeon and Ring-billed Gull, seven Yellow-browed Warblers, nine Ring-necked Ducks, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 22 Glossy Ibises.

Monday 14th January 2019  
  Rarities today comprised the Desert Wheatear still on the Isles of Scilly, Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warbler in Lincolnshire, Coues's Arctic Redpolls in Lothian and Norfolk, Pacific Diver on County Cork, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Lesser Scaup in both Somerset and Staffordshire. In Highland a White-billed Diver was a new discovery at Little Loch Broom.

Scarcities included Hoopoe (County Armagh), Common Rosefinch (Shetland Isles), Great Grey Shrike (Staffordshire), Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), two each of Serin, Rose-coloured Starling and American Wigeons, three Ring-billed Gulls, four Rough-legged Buzzards, eight Ring-necked Ducks, 10 Glossy Ibises, 14 Yellow-browed Warblers, and a total of 37 Shorelarks.

Sunday 13th January 2019  
 

A near-adult American Herring Gull was identified on the Beara Peninsula, Co.Cork.

Pacific Divers were still in Co.Cork and Cornwall. The Lesser Scaup reappeared in Staffordshire and other lingering rarities included Hume's Warbler in East Sussex, Dusky Warblers in Lincolnshire and Dorset, Spotted Sandpiper in Co.Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Dorset, Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and Coues's Arctic Redpolls in Borders, Lothian and Shetland.

Scarcities included four Rough-legged Buzzards, a Temminck's Stint, eight Shorelarks, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, two Great Grey Shrikes, a Rose-coloured Starling, three Lapland Buntings, three Little Auks, a Ring-billed Gull, 13 Glaucous Gulls, 11 Iceland Gulls, eight Glossy Ibises, a Lesser Snow Goose, two Black Brants, 27 Taiga Bean Geese, 13 Tundra Bean Geese, three American Wigeon, two Green-winged Teal and 16 Ring-necked Ducks.

Saturday 12th January 2019  
  News of a Hume's Warbler at Newhaven, Sussex was released today, having been present since 27th December last year.

Other lingering rarities seen today included single Dusky Warblers in Dorset and Lincolnshire, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Lothian, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, single Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Cornwall and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire.

Scarcity highlights included a Common Rosefinch, a Rose-coloured Starling, two Great Grey Shrikes, five Lapland Buntings, 11 Yellow-browed Warblers, 37 Shorelarks, a Temminck's Stint, a White Stork, 12 Glossy Ibises, seven Rough-legged Buzzards, a Lesser Snow Goose, three Black Brants, 14 Tundra Bean Geese, 24 Taiga Bean Geese, a Green-winged Teal, two Surf Scoters, three American Wigeon, seven Ring-necked Ducks, a Kumlien's Gull, two Ring-billed Gulls, 15 Iceland Gulls and 20 Glaucous Gulls.

Friday 11th January 2019  
  Rarity highlights included Pied-billed Grebe and White-billed Diver (Shetland), King Eider (Ceredigion), Pacific Diver (Co Cork), Lesser Yellowlegs (Cornwall and Dorset), Dusky Warbler (Lincolnshire), Coues's Arctic Redpoll (Lothian), Eastern Yellow Wagtail (Isles of Scilly) and Lesser Scaup (Somerset).

The best of the rest included Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), White-tailed Eagle (Hampshire), Great Grey Shrike (Glamorgan), Lapland Bunting (Lincolnshire), Lesser Snow Goose (Lancashire), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Todd's Canada Goose (Cumbria), two Rose-coloured Starlings and Green-winged Teals, three American Wigeons, four Rough-legged Buzzards, seven Yellow-browed Warblers, eight Ring-necked Ducks and Glossy Ibises, 10 Tundra Bean Geese, 21 Taiga Bean Geese and at least 31 Shorelarks.

  Rarities today were Pacific Divers in both Cornwall and County Cork, Dusky Warblers in Dorset, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Dorset, White-billed Diver on the Western Isles, Lesser Scaup in Somerset and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire.

Scarcities included Rough-legged Buzzard (Suffolk), Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), Lapland Bunting (Lincolnshire), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Ring-billed Gull and Lesser Snow Goose, five of American Wigeon and Ring-necked Duck, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, 11 Glossy Ibis and 31 Shorelarks.

Wednesday 9th January 2019  
  A Bonaparte's Gull was found at Furbo, County Clare, and a White-billed Diver was off Housabister, Shetland.

Lingering rarities included single Pacific Divers in Cornwall and County Cork, single Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Dorset, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, single Dusky Warblers in Warwickshire and Lincolnshire, Coues's Arctic Redpoll in Yorkshire, Lesser Scaup in Somerset and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire.

Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Richard's Pipit, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Lapland Bunting, three Great Grey Shrikes, three Yellow-browed Warblers, 35 Shorelarks, a White-tailed Eagle, three Rough-legged Buzzards, 11 Glossy Ibises, a White Stork, a Temminck's Stint, a Green-winged Teal, two Surf Scoters, four Ring-necked Ducks, six American Wigeon, a Black Brant, two Lesser Snow Geese, two Todd's Canada Geese, 13 Tundra Bean Geese, 24 Taiga Bean Geese, two Ring-billed Gulls, eight Glaucous Gulls and 13 Iceland Gulls.

Tuesday 8th January 2019  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a first-winter Lesser White-fronted Goose in Cumbria with Pink-footed Geese at Burgh-by-Sands.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Pacific Diver in County Cork, Eastern Yellow Wagtail on the Isles of Scilly, Dusky Warblers in both Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Western Isles and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire.

Scarcities included Serin and Temminck's Stint (both Cornwall), White-tailed Eagle (Hampshire), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Great Grey Shrike, Ring-billed Gull and Surf Scoter, three Rough-legged Buzzards, four American Wigeons, nine Glossy Ibises, 11 Yellow-browed Warblers, 18 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 19 Shorelarks.

Monday 7th January 2019  
  Rarities today comprised single Dusky Warblers still in both Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, Spotted Sandpiper in County Wexford, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Lesser Scaup in Somerset and Coues's Arctic Redpoll new in Norfolk at Barton Broad.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Conwy), Common Rosefinch (Shetland), Great Grey Shrike (Cambridgeshire), White-tailed Eagle (Hampshire), Ring-billed Gull (Clyde), Surf Scoter (County Meath), Temminck's Stint (Cornwall), two each of both Richard's Pipit and Lapland Bunting, five American Wigeons, six Yellow-browed Warblers, seven Rough-legged Buzzards, eight Glossy Ibises, 14 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 30 Shorelarks.

Sunday 6th January 2019  
 

An adult female Lesser Scaup was identified at Blithfield Reservoir, Staffordshire.

Ongoing rarities included three Dusky Warblers (Dorset, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire), Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Cornwall, Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire, King Eider in Ceredigion, Lesser Scaup in Somerset and four Coues's Arctic Redpolls (Borders, Lothian, Norfolk and East Yorkshire).

Scarcities included six Rough-legged Buzzards, 37 Shorelarks, nine Yellow-browed Warblers, five Lapland Buntings, five Great Grey Shrikes, a Rose-coloured Starling, 205 Waxwings, a Common Rosefinch, a Richard's Pipit, a Temminck's Stint, a Ring-billed Gull, seven Iceland Gulls, six Glaucous Gulls, a Lesser Snow Goose, 26 Taiga Bean Geese, eight Tundra Bean Geese, six American Wigeon, a Green-winged Teal, 15 Ring-necked Ducks, three Surf Scoters, White-tailed Eagle (Hampshire) and a White Stork.
