| New rarities today comprised a Red-eyed Vireo in Cornwall on The Lizard with a
Black Kite near St Buryan, a Spotted Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire at Girdle Ness, Bonaparte's Gull in Argyll at Lochgilphead,
Lesser Scaup on Anglesey at Llyn Llygeirian and in County Londonderry three
White-rumped Sandpipers together at Myroe. Lingering rarities included the Grey Catbird and Lesser Yellowlegs both still in Cornwall, Baltimore Oriole on the Western Isles, Scarlet Tanager in County Cork, Rustic Bunting in London, Eastern Stonechat species in Norfolk, Black Scoter and two Gull-billed Terns in Northumberland, Blue-winged Teal on the Shetland Isles, Spotted Sandpiper in County Durham, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Galway, Black Duck in Highland and Ferruginous Duck in Forth. On the Isles of Scilly the Grey-cheeked Thrush remained on St Agnes with around island totals of Melodious Warbler, Surf Scoter, Common Rosefinch, Richard's Pipit, Red-backed Shrike, two Cattle Egrets, three Little Buntings and 15 Great Shearwaters. Scarcities elsewhere included Pallas's Warbler (Suffolk), Melodious Warbler (County Galway), Surf Scoter (Fife), Temminck's Stint (Lincolnshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Devon), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), two each of both Little Bunting and American Golden Plover, three Barred Warblers, four Rose-coloured Starlings, and six each of both Richard's Pipit and Ring-necked Duck. |

| New discoveries today included single Red-eyed Vireos on Bryher, Isles of Scilly and Lundy, Devon, an Eastern Stonechat species at Kelling, Norfolk, single Olive-backed Pipits at Tetney, Lincolnshire and on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly, a Red-throated Pipit on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Cashen, County Kerry and a Richardson's Cackling Goose on Islay, Argyll.

| Today's new discoveries included Red-eyed Vireo (Co Galway),
Pallid Swift (Northumberland), Blyth's Reed Warbler
(Shetland) and two Richardson's Cackling Geese (Argyll). Two
Gull-billed Terns in inland Northumberland have apparently been present
for 15 days. The Grey Catbird (Cornwall), Veery and Scarlet Tanager (Co Cork), Baltimore Oriole (Western Isles), Spotted Sandpiper (Co Durham), White-rumped Sandpipers (Co Galway [2] and Co Cork), Lesser Yellowlegs (Dorset and Suffolk), Olive-backed Pipit (East Yorkshire), Ferruginous Ducks (Forth and Suffolk), Eastern Stonechat (Gwynedd), Long-billed Dowitcher (Lincolnshire), Rustic Bunting (London), Black Scoter (Northumberland), Grey-cheeked Thrush (Isles of Scilly) and Blue-winged Teal (Shetland) all lingered. |

| Three Mega-alerts chimed today - a Veery on Cape Clear (Co
Cork), Baltimore Oriole on Barra (Western Isles) and
Grey-cheeked Thrush on St Agnes (Isles of Scilly). A Swainson's
Thrush (Co Cork), Pallid Swift (East Yorkshire),
Olive-backed Pipits (Fife and Shetland), Rustic Bunting
(London), Red-flanked Bluetail (Norfolk), Blue-winged
Teal (Shetland) and dowitcher species (Somerset) were
also discovered. The Grey Catbird (Cornwall), Two-barred Greenish Warbler (Norfolk), Scarlet Tanager and White-rumped Sandpiper (Co Cork), Eastern Stonechat (Gwynedd), Pied-billed Grebe (Shetland), Long-billed Dowitcher (Lincolnshire), King Eider (Ceredigion), Spotted Sandpiper (Co Durham), Olive-backed Pipit (East Yorkshire) and Ferruginous Duck and Lesser Yellowlegs (Sufolk) all lingered. |

| The highlight of the day was the continued presence of the Grey Catbird in Cornwall at Treeve Moor where it showed throughout the day. Lingering rarities elsewhere included the
Isabelline Shrike species still in Devon, Baird's Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper together in County Donegal,
Lesser Yellowlegs in both Dorset and Suffolk, Spotted Sandpiper in County Durham and
Ferruginous Duck in Suffolk. Discoveries included a Scarlet Tanager on Cape Clear, County Cork, a Two-barred Greenish Warbler identified in Norfolk at Holkham Pines with a Dusky Warbler along the coast at Trimingham, an Eastern Stonechat species in Gwynedd at Bardsey Island and three Olive-backed Pipits in East Yorkshire; one at Flamborough Head and now two Spurn. On the Shetland Isles Pied-billed Grebe, Bluethroat, Shorelark and Ring-necked Duck were logged whilst on the Isles of Scilly Rose-coloured Starling, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Barred Warbler, Surf Scoter, two Red-backed Shrikes, three Rose-coloured Starlings and four Common Rosefinches were recorded. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of the second Grey Catbird for Britain at Treeve Moor, Cornwall. A Bobolink was seen flying over Trenoweth, Isles of Scilly, but there was no sign of the White-rumped Swift at Hornsea, Yorkshire.
Other new discoveries today included a Red-flanked Bluetail at Holkham, Norfolk, a Penduline Tit at Nanjizal Valley, Cornwall, a Spotted Sandpiper in Jarrow, County Durham, a Baird's Sandpiper at Loch Swilly, County Donegal and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Termoncarragh Lough, County Mayo. Lingering rarities still present today included the Pechora Pipit in Western Isles, Subalpine Warbler species in County Cork, Olive-backed Pipit in Yorkshire, Isabelline Shrike species in Devon, Bee-eater in Clyde, Booted Warbler in Shetland, Ferruginous Duck and Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and single White-rumped Sandpipers in County Derry, County Donegal and County Wexford. |

| The highlight day today was also the highlight of the year: a White-rumped Swift present at Hornsea Mere, East Yorkshire from late afternoon until dusk; the first British record of this species. On the Shetland Isles a River Warbler was found on Mainland at Wester Quarff and a White-rumped Sandpiper was new at Pool of Virkie with other notables around the archipelago being the White-crowned Sparrow still on Foula, Swainson's Thrush on Yell, Booted Warbler, Pied-billed Grebe, Olive-backed Pipit, Pallas's Warbler, Little Bunting, Bluethroat, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Ring-necked Duck, Shorelark, three Barred Warblers and five Great Grey Shrikes. On the Isles of Scilly the Eastern Yellow Wagtail remained on Tresco as did the Tawny Pipit on Bryher and Greenish Warbler on St Agnes with around island totals of Melodious Warbler, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Wryneck, two each of both Common Rosefinch and Red-backed Shrike, four Grey Phalaropes and five Cattle Egrets. New rarities elsewhere comprised a Bonaparte's Gull found in Northumberland at Low Newton-by-the-Sea and White-rumped Sandpipers in Cornwall at Hayle (though later died) and two on Inishmore, County Galway. In County Donegal the Stilt Sandpiper showed again at Inch Lake whilst the Pechora Pipit lingered on the Western Isles as did the Isabelline Shrike species in Devon, Subalpine Warbler species in County Cork, Spotted Sandpiper in Cleveland, Bee-eater in Clyde, American White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Forster's Tern in County Louth, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall, Dorset and Suffolk, and Ferruginous Ducks in both Forth and Suffolk. Other scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Norfolk), Icterine Warbler (County Galway), Short-toed Lark (Cornwall), Common Rosefinch (Northumberland), Rough-legged Buzzard (Highland), American Wigeon (County Wicklow), two each of Little Bunting, Spotted Crake, Glossy Ibis and Surf Scoter, three of Rose-coloured Starling, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Pectoral Sandpiper and Ring-necked Duck, five Richard's Pipits and seven Shorelarks. |

| New discoveries included Pechora Pipit (Western Isles),
White's Thrush and three Olive-backed Pipits
(Shetland), Alpine Swift and Semipalmated Sandpiper
(Co Wexford), White-rumped and Semipalmated Sandpipers
(Co Cork), Red-rumped Swallow (Kent), Olive-backed
Pipit (East Yorkshire) and two offshore Wilson's Petrels
(Cornwall). The Shetland Isles hosted Swainson's Thrush, Booted Warbler, White-crowned Sparrow, Citrine Wagtail, Pied-billed Grebe, two Pallas's Warblers, Bluethroat, Great Grey Shrike, Short-toed Lark, Barred Warbler, Ring-necked Duck and Common Rosefinch, whilst Isles of Scilly hosted Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Tawny Pipit, Greenish Warbler, two Richard's Pipits and Common Rosefinch. Away from Shetland and Scilly lingering rarities comprised Spotted Sandpiper (Cleveland), Bee-eater (Clyde), White-rumped Sandpiper (Co Wexford), Lesser Yellowlegs (Cornwall, Dorset, Suffolk and Western Isles), Isabelline shrike sp (Devon), Olive-backed Pipits (East Yorkshire and Fife), Ferruginous Ducks (Forth and Suffolk), Long-billed Dowitcher (Lincolnshire) and American White-winged Scoter (Lothian). |

| Highlight of the day was the report of a Bridled Tern off
Castlegregory (Co Kerry), whilst Spotted Sandpiper (Cleveland),
Bee-eater (Clyde), White-rumped Sandpiper (Co
Wexford), Red-rumped Swallow (Kent) and Booted Warbler
(Shetland) were also discovered. Lingering rarities comprised subalpine warbler species (Co Cork), Lesser Yellowlegs (Dorset, Suffolk and Western Isles), Olive-backed Pipits (Fife and East Yorkshire), Ferruginous Duck (Forth), Greenish Warbler and Tawny Pipit (Isles of Scilly) and Swainson's Thrush (Shetland). In addition to the aforementioned rarities, Shetland hosted Pallas's Warbler, two Great Grey Shrikes and at least three Barred Warblers, whilst Isles of Scilly produced a Bluethroat. Elsewhere the best of the scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Norfolk), Bluethroat (Orkney), Barred Warbler (Co Waterford), three Rose-coloured Starlings and Red-breasted Flycatchers and four Great Grey Shrikes. Late news and confirmation of identifications from yesterday came in the form of Eastern Yellow Wagtail (Isles of Scilly), Western Black-eared Wheatear (Orkney), Arctic Warbler (Lincolnshire) and Red-throated Pipit (Lancashire). |

| The highlight of the day was the finding of a Black-eared Wheatear on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay whilst other discoveries included a
Subalpine Warbler species in County Cork on Cape Clear, Greenish Warblers in County Cork at Ballynacarriga and in Lincolnshire at Gibraltar Point, and
Olive-backed Pipits at Spurn, East Yorkshire and on the Isle of May, Fife (2). Lingering rarities confirmed as still present included the Isabelline Shrike species in Devon, American White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Forster's Tern in County Louth, Pacific Diver in County Cork, Snowy Owls in both Gwynedd and the Western Isles, Baird's Sandpiper in Moray, Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Ferruginous Duck in Suffolk and Lesser Yellowlegs in each of Dorset, Suffolk and Western Isles. On the Isles of Scilly Tawny Pipit, Greenish Warbler, Little Bunting, Bluethroat, Richard's Pipit, Common Rosefinch, Barred Warbler, Red-backed Shrike, two each of Wryneck and Lapland Bunting and nine Cattle Egrets were all logged whilst on the Shetland Isles Woodchat Shrike, two Little Buntings and two Barred Warblers were seen. Scarcities elsewhere comprised Pallas's Warbler (Northumberland), Melodious Warbler and Wryneck (Cornwall), Buff-breasted Sandpiper (County Clare), Lesser Snow Goose (Moray), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Rough-legged Buzzard (Cleveland), two each of Red-breasted Flycatcher, Barred Warbler and Common Rosefinch, three of Little Bunting and American Golden Plover, four Richard's Pipits and six Rose-coloured Starlings. |
