| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Pacific Golden Plover in County Wicklow at Poulaphouca Reservoir. Interestingly, this distinctive adult male appears to be the same individual as
that present in Cornwall at Gwithian and the Hayle Estuary between 29th June and 1st July; a relocation north northwest of 211 miles. Rarities elsewhere comprised a Snowy Owl still on the Western Isles, territorial Little Bittern in Shropshire, Bonaparte's Gull still in Kent, King Eider in Aberdeenshire and Black-winged Stilts in both Kent (4) and Norfolk. Scarcities included Red-backed Shrike (Surrey), Pectoral Sandpiper (Aberdeenshire), Cory's Shearwater (at sea off Dorset), two Cattle Egrets and four Rose-coloured Starlings. |

| The bird of the day was discovered during the evening on Brownsman, Farne Islands, Northumberland, in the form of a Sooty Tern. A singing Iberian Chiffchaff was heard at Marazion Marsh RSPB, Cornwall and a female Red-footed Falcon flew over Witcham, Cambridgeshire. Lingering rarities seen today included the Little Bittern at Chelmarsh Reservoir, Shropshire, and the Bonaparte's Gull and four Black-winged Stilts at Oare Marshes, Kent.
