| The highlight of the day was the relocation of the long-staying Forster's Tern in Ireland to Dundalk, County
Louth, where it has returned to moult most summers since 2006. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Caspian Tern still in West Yorkshire, Marsh Sandpiper and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, King Eider in Ceredigion and five Bee-eaters still in Nottinghamshire. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Western Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (Highland), American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (Lincolnshire), Temminck's Stint (Gloucestershire), Cory's Shearwater (County Clare), Glossy Ibis (Suffolk) two Pectoral Sandpipers and four Cattle Egrets. |

| Tuesday 18th July 2017 | ||

| The highlight of the day was a Caspian Tern in West Yorkshire that was mobile between Swillington Ings and Fairburn Ings for much of the day.
In Lincolnshire a juvenile Broad-billed Sandpiper was seen briefly on The Wash at Gibraltar
Point. Rarities elsewhere comrpised the Marsh Sandpiper, Bonaparte's Gull and four Black-winged Stilts all still in Kent, King Eider still in Ceredigion and the flock of four Bee-eaters in Nottinghamshire, but the Amur Falcon could not be found in Cornwall at St Buryan. Scarcities included Golden Oriole (Gloucestershire), Glossy Ibis (Suffolk), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Pectoral Sandpiper, Temminck's Stint and Great Shearwater, and a total of seven Cattle Egrets. |

| Monday 17th July 2017 | ||
|
||
| The highlight of the day was the rediscovery of the female Amur Falcon
in Cornwall. Just 2.5 miles from where she was last seen at Polgigga, she spent
the afternoon and evening at St Buryan, before flying off shortly before dusk.
Other lingering rarities seen today included the American White-winged Scoter at Murcar, Aberdeenshire, Marsh Sandpiper at Cliffe and Bonaparte's Gull at Oare, both Kent, four Bee-eaters at East Leake, Nottinghamshire, six Black-winged Stilts at Potter Heigham, Norfolk, King Eider at Ynyslas, Ceredigion, a Black Kite at Wickham Market, Suffolk and a Wilson's Petrel from the Scilly pelagic. Scarcity highlights included a Rose-coloured Starling, a Grey-headed Wagtail, a White-winged Black Tern, a Glossy Ibis and three Honey Buzzards. |

| The highlight of the day was a Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk at Cley for much of the day. Other discoveries included a
Bee-eater reported in Hampshire and a Lesser Yellowlegs that overflew Saltfleetby All Saints, Lincolnshire. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American White-winged Scoter in Aberdeenshire, Marsh Sandpiper and Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Caspian Tern in Lincolnshire, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Wexford, King Eider in Ceredigion, four Bee-eaters still in Nottinghamshire, and breeding Black-winged Stilts in Cambridgeshire (2), Kent (7) and Norfolk (6). Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Highland), White-winged Black Tern (Orkney Isles), Sabine's Gull (inland in North Yorkshire), Long-tailed Skua (Northumberland), Ring-billed Gull (County Kerry), Grey-headed Wagtail (Somerset), American Night Heron (Shropshire), two each of both Surf Scoter and Pectoral Sandpiper, eight Great Shearwaters and 17 Cattle Egrets. |

| Thursday 13th July 2017 | ||

||
| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a pratincole species in Suffolk at Aldeburgh early in the afternoon. Initially identified as a Black-winged Pratincole the identification was soon revised to Collared Pratincole before the possibility of Oriental was considered in the evening. Rarities elsewhere included a Semipalmated Sandpiper new in County Wexford at Tacumshin, the Marsh Sandpiper still in Kent, American White-winged Scoter in Aberdeenshire, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, King Eider in Aberdeenshire and Ceredigion, Savi's Warbler in Suffolk, Wilson's Petrel off the Isles of Scilly, four Bee-eaters in Nottinghamshire, and breeding Black-winged Stilts in Cambridgeshire (2), Kent (9) and Norfolk (6). Scarcities included Common Rosefinch (Ceredigion), Sabine's Gull (inland in North Yorkshire), Wryneck (Essex), Grey-headed Wagtail (Somerset), Night Heron (Shropshire), two Surf Scoters (together in Aberdeenshire), two Glossy Ibises, four Cattle Egrets and five Cory's Shearwaters. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Marsh Sandpiper in Kent at Cliffe Pools where two pairs of
Black-winged Stilts currently have a total of seven young. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Pied-billed Grebe still in Argyll, King Eider in Ceredigion, Long-billed Dowitcher in Northumberland, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, the family of six Black-winged Stilts in Norfolk and up to five Bee-eaters still in Nottinghamshire. Scarcities included Buff-breasted Sandpiper (East Yorkshire), Red-backed Shrike (Nottinghamshire), Sabine's Gull (inland in North Yorkshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Lincolnshire), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), Cory's Shearwater (at sea off the Isles of Scilly), Long-tailed Skua (Lothian), Glossy Ibis (Somerset), American Night Heron (Shropshire), two Ring-billed Gulls (together in County Kerry), and a total of 16 Cattle Egrets. |

| The first Pterodroma of the year (either a Fea's, Zino's or Desertas
Petrel) flew past Berry Head, Devon late afternoon.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Long-billed Dowitcher at Boulmer, Northumberland, six Black-winged Stilts at Potter Heigham, Norfolk, four Bee-eaters at East Leake, Nottinghamshire, Bonaparte's Gull at Oare, Kent and Ferruginous Duck at Washington, County Durham. Scarcity highlights included a White-winged Black Tern, a Purple Heron, a Night Heron, a Sabine's Gull, a Montagu's Harrier, three Roseate Terns away from breeding sites, a Leach's Petrel, three Cory's Shearwaters, six Great Shearwaters and four Balearic Shearwaters. |
