| Rarities today comprised the Two-barred Crossbill still in Somerset,
Squacco Heron still in County Kerry, Red-rumped Swallows in both Cambridgeshire and Dorset,
Long-billed Dowitcher and Black Kite together in County Wexford,
Bonaparte's Gull in Oxfordshire, King Eider in Aberdeenshire and
White-billed Divers in both Aberdeenshire (3) and the Orkney Isles. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Gwynedd), Woodchat Shrike (Cornwall), Night Heron (Shropshire), Purple Heron (Cornwall), Temminck's Stint (Staffordshire), Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), Glossy Ibis (Norfolk), two each of Surf Scoter and Ring-necked Duck, three Green-winged Teals, five Lapland Buntings, 27 Shorelarks, and a total of 61 Cattle Egrets. |
