The highlight of the day was the discovery of an American Herring Gull in Suffolk at Great Livermere - a county first. Elsewhere, a Black Kite was new in County Wexford between Ring Marsh and Tacumshin, and a Red-rumped Swallow flew over Boyton, Suffolk.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Rock Thrush on the Isles of Scilly, American Coot on the Western Isles, Black Duck in Highland, Bonaparte's Gull in County Kerry, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both Carmarthenshire and Dorset.

Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (County Waterford), Wryneck (Isles of Scilly), American Wigeon (Gloucestershire), Yellow-browed Warbler (Kent), Surf Scoter (Lothian), two Little Buntings (together in Cornwall), three Glossy Ibises, four Ring-necked Ducks, five Lapland Buntings, seven Shorelarks, and a total of 66 Cattle Egrets.
