A Ferruginous Duck arrived at Staines Reservoirs (Surrey), whilst Pine Bunting (Kent), Pacific Diver and Black Scoter (Northumberland), White-billed Diver (Lincolnshire), Eastern Black Redstarts (Cornwall and Cleveland), Lesser Yellowlegs (Dorset), Dusky Thrush (Derbyshire), Hudsonian Whimbrel (Cornwall), Lesser Scaups (Cornwall and Orkney), Desert Wheatear (Devon), Pallid Harrier (East Yorkshire), Northern Harrier (Orkney), Blue Rock Thrush (Gloucestershire) and Red-breasted Goose (Lancashire) all lingered. | ||

In Kent a male Pine Bunting was present near Sittingbourne for its second day, but the Pine Bunting in North Yorkshire failed to make an appearance today. Elsewhere lingering rarities included Killdeer (Shetland), Northern Harrier (Orkney), Pacific Diver and Black Scoter (Northumberland), White-billed Diver (Lincolnshire), Red-breasted Goose (Lancashire), Ferruginous Ducks (Co Durham and Norfolk), Blue Rock Thrush (Gloucestershire), Lesser Yellowlegs (Dorset), Bonaparte's Gull and Desert Wheatear (Devon), Lesser Scaup and Eastern Black Redstart (Cornwall), Eastern Black Redstart (Cleveland) and Hooded Merganser (Clyde). |

| The highlight of the day was a Black-throated Thrush reported in London at Finchley. Rarities elsewhere comprised the
Pine Bunting still in North Yorkshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire,
Pacific Diver and Black Scoter in Northumberland, White-billed Diver
in Lincolnshire, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire,
Desert Wheatear in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, and
Ferruginous Ducks in County Durham and Norfolk. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Serin (East Sussex), Rough-legged Buzzard (Lincolnshire), Temminck's Stint (Staffordshire), American Wigeon (Dumfriesshire), Glossy Ibis (Devon), Kumlien's Gull (County Galway), two each of Little Bunting and Surf Scoter, three Great Grey Shrikes, four Yellow-browed Warblers, five each of Ring-necked Duck and Lapland Bunting, seven Ring-billed Gulls, 25 Cattle Egrets, and 38 Shorelarks. Significant late news concerned the Lesser White-fronted Goose still present on 18th January in Essex on Foulness Island, Essex where it was first seen on 18th December 2016. |

Black Scoter in Northumberland, Pacific Diver, Hudsonian
Whimbrel, Eastern Black Redstart and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Killdeer and
White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire,
Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire, Lesser Scaup in Country Antrim, and
Ferruginous Ducks in both County Durham and Norfolk. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Serin (East Sussex), Ring-billed Gull (County Wexford), Glossy Ibis (Devon), two each of Surf Scoter, American Wigeon and Yellow-browed Warbler, three Richard's Pipits, four each of Ring-necked Duck, Great Grey Shrike and Lapland Bunting, 22 Cattle Egrets and 39 Shorelarks. |

on the Outer Hebrides, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Black Scoter in Northumberland,
Desert Wheatear and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall,
Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset,
Eastern Black Redstarts in both Cleveland and Cornwall, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire,
Ferruginous Ducks in County Durham and Norfolk, and Lesser Scaups in County Antrim, Cornwall and the Orkney Isles. | A juvenile White-billed Diver was seen on the River Witham at Woodhall
Spa, Lincolnshire today, for its second day. Coincidentally, it is under four miles from the
location of the last Lincolnshire record, which was on the same river at
Tattershall for three days in 1996. Further north a Pallid Harrier was at
Sandwick, Orkney and a Gyr was on North Uist, Western Isles.
Lingering rarities still present today included the Pine Bunting at Dunnington, Yorkshire, single Pacific Divers at East Chevington/Druridge Bay, Northumberland and Penzance, Cornwall, Dusky Thrush at Beeley, Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush at Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, single Eastern Black Redstarts in Cornwall and Cleveland, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire, White-billed Diver in Orkney, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire. |

| A male Pine Bunting was discovered today, at Dunnington in North
Yorkshire. Further north, a juvenile Pacific Diver was identified at East
Chevington NWT, Northumberland, having been present in the area for three days.
A white morph Gyr was seen on the east side of Lough Neagh in County
Armagh.
Lingering rarities still present today included the Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Eastern Black Redstart, Hudsonian Whimbrel and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Lesser Scaup in County Antrim and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk. |
