Tuesday 17th January 2017  
  Rarities today comprised the Dusky Thrush still in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, American Coot on the Western Isles, Pacific Diver, Hudsonian Whimbrel and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Black-throated Thrush in South Yorkshire, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, and in Aberdeenshire the King Eider returned to St Combs.

Scarcities included Little Bunting (Suffolk), Richard's Pipit (Gloucestershire), Kumlien's Gull (County Cork), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Surf Scoter and Ring-billed Gull, three Lapland Buntings, four American Wigeons, five each of both Yellow-browed Warbler and Great Grey Shrike, six Ring-necked Ducks, 25 Cattle Egrets and 46 Shorelarks.

Monday 16th January 2017  
  The highlight of the day was the Black-throated Thrush still as Adwick Washland, South Yorkshire. Elsewhere lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Pacific Diver, Hudsonian Whimbrel and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Killdeer on the Shetland Isles, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Desert Wheatear and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk.

Scarcities included Serin (East Sussex), two Rose-coloured Starlings, three each of American Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Shorelark and Yellow-browed Warbler, four Ring-necked Ducks, six Ring-billed Gulls and 29 Cattle Egrets.

Friday 13th January 2017  
  Lingering rarities seen today included the Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Pacific Diver and Eastern Black Redstart in Cornwall, another Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Desert Wheatear and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Hooded Merganser in Clyde and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk.

Scarcity highlights included a Great Grey Shrike, a Kumlien's Gull, two Little Auks, two Surf Scoters, two Ring-necked Ducks, three American Wigeon, four Green-winged Teals, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, 25 Cattle Egrets, ten Ring-billed Gulls, 24 Iceland Gulls and around 95 Glaucous Gulls.

Thursday 12th January 2017  
  Lingering rarities still present today included the Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Killdeer in Shetland, American Coot in the Western Isles, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Pacific Diver, Eastern Black Redstart and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier in Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Great Grey Shrike, three Yellow-browed Warblers, three Ring-necked Ducks, three American Wigeon and three Green-winged Teals.

Scarce gull totals were 51 Glaucous Gulls, 19 Iceland Gulls and six Ring-billed Gulls.

  Lingering rarities seen today included the Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Stejneger's Stonechat in Kent, Snowy Owl in Orkney, Pacific Diver, Eastern Black Redstart and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, another Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, King Eider in County Sligo and two Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk

Scarcity highlights included a Little Bunting, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Great Grey Shrike, a Surf Scoter, two Glossy Ibises, four Ring-billed Gulls and five Yellow-browed Warblers.

Tuesday 10th January 2017  
  Rarities today comprised the Dusky Thrush still in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Pallid Harrier in East Yorkshire, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Eastern Black Redstarts in both Cleveland and Cornwall, Stejneger's Stonechat in Kent, Black Scoter in Northumberland, Hooded Merganer in Clyde, Black Duck in Highland and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler and Little Bunting (both Suffolk), Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Richard's Pipit (Gloucestershire), American Wigeon (Dumfrieshire), Kumlien's Gull (Cornwall), two Surf Scoters, three of both Ring-billed Gull and Glossy Ibis, four Rough-legged Buzzards, five Ring-necked Ducks, seven Lapland Buntings, eight Yellow-browed Warblers, 22 Cattle Egrets and 36 Shorelarks.

Monday 9th January 2017  
  Rarities today comprised a Snowy Owl still on the Orkney Isles on Eday, the Dusky Thrush in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Red-breasted Goose in Lancashire, Eastern Black Redstarts in both Cleveland and Cornwall, Stejneger's Stonechat in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Lesser Scaups in both County Cavan and Cornwall, and Ferruginous Ducks in both County Durham and Norfolk.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler and Little Bunting (both Suffolk), Rose-coloured Starling (West Sussex), Richard's Pipit (Gloucestershire), Temminck's Stint (Staffordshire), American Wigeon (Dumfries), Glossy Ibis (Leicestershire), Kumlien's Gull (Cornwall), two Surf Scoters, three each of both Yellow-browed Warbler and Ring-necked Duck, five of Ring-billed Gull and Lapland Bunting, 36 Shorelarks, and 43 Cattle Egrets.

The reported Orphean Warbler in Suffolk at Newmarket showed again and proved to be a Lesser Whitethroat, probably of an eastern form.
