| Rarities today comprised the Dusky Thrush still in Derbyshire, Blue Rock Thrush in Gloucestershire,
American Coot on the Western Isles, Pacific Diver, Hudsonian Whimbrel
and Lesser Scaup in Cornwall, Black-throated Thrush in South Yorkshire, Desert Wheatear
in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Hooded Merganser in Clyde, Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, and in Aberdeenshire the
King Eider returned to St Combs. Scarcities included Little Bunting (Suffolk), Richard's Pipit (Gloucestershire), Kumlien's Gull (County Cork), two each of Rose-coloured Starling, Surf Scoter and Ring-billed Gull, three Lapland Buntings, four American Wigeons, five each of both Yellow-browed Warbler and Great Grey Shrike, six Ring-necked Ducks, 25 Cattle Egrets and 46 Shorelarks. |
