| A male Siberian Rubythroat was found on Fair Isle, Shetland today, the
latest ever record for Britain and the first to be found outside the month of
October. Nearby, a Snowy Owl was reported from Westray, Orkney.
Lingering rarities included the Killdeer and Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll in Shetland, Hudsonian Whimbrel and Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Hooded Merganser in Ayrshire, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland, Black-bellied Dipper in Suffolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. |

| Lingering rarities seen today included the Western Rufous Turtle Dove,
Killdeer and Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll in Shetland, Hudsonian
Whimbrel and Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Hooded Merganser
in Ayrshire, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Eastern Black Redstart
in Cleveland, Desert Wheatear in Devon, Pallid Harrier in
Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset,
White-billed Diver in Orkney and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon.
Scarcity highlights included a Todd's Canada Goose, a Glaucous Gull, two Iceland Gulls, two Little Auks, two Ring-necked Ducks, two Green-winged Teals, three Pomarine Skuas, four American Wigeon, four Cattle Egrets and six Great Grey Shrikes. |

| Rarities today comprised both the Killdeer and Western Rufous Turtle Dove still on the Shetland Isles,
the American Coot on the Western Isles, Hooded Merganser in Ayrshire, both
Desert Wheatear and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Eastern Black Redstart in Cleveland,
Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset, Black-bellied Dipper
still in Suffolk, and in East Yorkshire the Pallid Harrier retrurned to Welwick. Scarcities included Little Bunting (Norfolk), Richard's Pipit (East Yorkshire), Surf Scoter (Lothian), American Wigeon (Angus), Glossy Ibis (Essex), Ring-necked Duck (Kent and Perthshire), and a total of 24 Cattle Egrets. |

| The first Harlequin Duck for Ireland was seen from the Cape Clear
ferry in County Cork today, between Sherkin Island and Hare Island.

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Killdeer on the Shetland Isles at Sandwick, with a
Coues's Arctic Redpoll new on Unst. In County Galway a Lesser Scaup was identified at Loughrea, and in Hampshire the
Ferruginous Duck returned to Blashford Lakes. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Siberian Accentor in Highland at Avoch, Western Rufous Turtle Dove on the Shetland Isles, Black-throated Thrush and Northern Harrier on the Orkney Isles, Desert Wheatear in Devon, two Eastern Black Redstarts in Cleveland, Western Purple Swamphen and Pallid Harrier in Lincolnshire, Dalmatian Pelican and Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Hooded Merganser in Ayrshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Dorset and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. Scarities included Short-toed Lark (North Yorkshire), Little Bunting (Suffolk), Pallas's Warbler (Pembrokeshire), Surf Scoter (Lothian), Rough-legged Buzzard (Lincolnshire and Norfolk), three each of both Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, and four of Richard's Pipit and American Wigeon. |

| An American Coot was found on Loch nam Feithean at Balranald, Western
Isles. Two Arctic Redpolls on Fair Isle, Shetland were the only other
rarities discovered today.
