  The highlight of the day was the discovery of the first Booted Warbler of the year, on Fetlar, Shetland Isles. Related sightings included Greenish Warblers in Dorset at Portland, the Orkney Isles at Evie and the Shetland Isles (2), Common Rosefinch (Shetland Isles), Barred Warbler (Orkney Isles), Red-backed Shrike (Norfolk), two Icterine Warblers, six Wrynecks, also Melodious Warbler (Isles of Scilly), White-winged Black Tern (Leicestershire), and Spotted Crake (East Yorkshire).

Rare waders comprised a Lesser Yellowlegs new in Essex at Vange Marsh, the Terek Sandpiper still in County Wexford, Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Semipalmated Sandpiper in County Kerry, White-rumped Sandpiper in Northumberland, and a Temminck's Stint in London.

Seabirds included Wilson's Petrels in County Clare and the Isles of Scilly (4), and totals of two Sabine's Gulls, two Great Shearwaters and five Cory's Shearwaters.
