  The highlight of the day was the reappearance of the Western Sandpiper in County Wexford at Tacumshin. Elsewhere, rare waders comprised the Hudsonian Whimbrel still in Cornwall, Baird's Sandpiper in Suffolk, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, and both Broad-billed Sandpiper and Pectoral Sandpiper together in Lincolnshire.

Other rarities comprised a Caspian Tern new in Norfolk at Hickling Broad, the American White-winged Scoter still in Aberdeenshire, Dalmatian Pelican still in Cornwall, two Wilson's Petrels off the Isles of Scilly, and single Bonaparte's Gulls in both Kent and Northumberland.

Scarcities included Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), two each of both Glossy Ibis and Spotted Crake, three Cattle Egrets, and five Cory's Shearwaters.
