Wednesday 20th July 2016
The highlight of the day was the long-awaited first Greater Sand Plover for Ireland, at Tacumshin, County Wexford, although it soon departed to the northeast.

Elsewhere, rarities today were both the Dalmatian Pelican and Hudsonian Whimbrel still in Cornwall, a territorial Little Bittern in Somerset, and the Bonaparte's Gull in Kent.

Scarcities included American Golden Plover and Cattle Egret (together in County Wexford), Common Rosefinch (London), Sabine's Gull (Derbyshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Lincolnshire), White Stork (Oxfordshire), and Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire and Lothian).
