| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Collared Pratincole in Somerset at Ham Wall, where a
Little Bittern remained. Elsewhere, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American White-winged Scoter in Aberdeenshire, both the Dalmatian Pelican and Hudsonian Whimbrel in Cornwall, Iberian Chiffchaff on the Isles of Scilly, and the Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (South Yorkshire), Common Rosefinch (London), Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Cattle Egret (Cambridgeshire), two Surf Scoters, and a total of nine Glossy Ibises. Seawatching produced four Cory's Shearwaters and a Sabine's Gull passing headlands in County Cork, and a Leach's Petrel off Glamorgan. |
