| Rarities today comprised the Great Knot still in Norfolk, where the Caspian Tern was reported briefly, the
Broad-billed Sandpiper still in Gwent, Gull-billed Tern in Forth,
King Eider in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and two Bee-eaters
briefly in Devon. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Borders), Serin (West Sussex), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), Ring-necked Duck (Orkney Isles), three Cattle Egrets and four Glossy Ibises. Significant late news concerned a Blyth's Reed Warbler on 17th June in West Sussex at Rye Harbour, and in Somerset the recent presence of at least one territorial male Little Bittern at Ham Wall. |

| New rarities discovered today were a Caspian Tern in Norfolk at Breydon Water, a
Bonaparte's Gull in County Wexford at Tacumshin, a Red-rumped Swallow briefly in Glamorgan, and both
Black Kite and Bee-eater in Kent. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Great Knot in Norfolk, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Broad-billed Sandpiper in Gwent, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and King Eider in Lothian. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Borders), Cattle Egret (West Sussex), Red-necked Phalarope (Northumberland), and Glossy Ibis (Merseyside and County Wexford). |

| New discoveries today included a Pacific Golden Plover at Titchwell
RSPB, Norfolk, a Broad-billed Sandpiper at Newport Wetlands NNR, Gwent, a
Rustic Bunting on the Isle of May, Fife, a Greenish Warbler and a
Bee-eater on Portland, Dorset and a Black Kite at Marazion Marsh
RSPB, Cornwall.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Great Knot in Norfolk, Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in Yorkshire, King Eider in Lothian and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. |

| The Great Knot remained in Norfolk at Titchwell this morning, before
being relocated nearby on Scolt Head Island this evening. Other lingering
rarities included the two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed
Tern in Forth, Little Bittern in Yorkshire and Ferruginous Duck
in County Durham. A female Black-headed or Red-headed Bunting was on the
Isle of Man briefly.
Scarcity highlights included a Red-necked Phalarope, a Common Rosefinch, a Marsh Warbler, a White-winged Black Tern, a Pomarine Skua, a Montagu's Harrier, a Green-winged Teal, a White Stork, a Glossy Ibis, two Serins and three Roseate Terns. |

| New discoveries included a Greenish Warbler in Gwynedd and
Bee-eater in East Sussex, whilst the Great Knot
(Norfolk), Gull-billed Tern (Forth), Great Reed Warbler
(Cambridgeshire), Little Bittern (South Yorkshire),
Bonaparte's Gull (Northumberland), two Caspian Terns
(Lincolnshire), Great Spotted Cuckoo (Dorset),
Dalamatian Pelican (Cornwall) and Lesser Scaup or
hybrid (East Yorkshire) all lingered. The best of the rest included Glossy Ibises (Suffolk and Nottinghamshire), Night Heron (Somerset) and Icterine Warbler (Highland). |

| An adult summer plumaged Great Knot was discovered at Titchwell RSPB,
Norfolk early afternoon. This fifth for Britain is the second for Norfolk,
following the adult at Breydon Water just under two years ago.
Lingering rarities seen today included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, two Caspian Terns in Lincolnshire, Gull-billed Terns in Forth and County Wexford, Little Bittern in Yorkshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Serin, a Purple Heron, a Ring-necked Duck, a Ring-billed Gull, a Pomarine Skua, a White Stork, two Golden Orioles, two Marsh Warblers and five Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was a male Pied Wheatear on the Isle of Wight at Freshwater: only the fourth British record in the spring/summer period, following males in Norfolk on 28th May 1978, East Sussex on 7th-9th July 1990, and East Yorkshire then North Yorkshire on 20th-23rd June 1991. Elsewhere, a second Caspian Tern joined the first in Lincolnshire at Gibraltar Point, the Dalmatian Pelican remained in Cornwall, as did the Broad-billed Sandpiper in Conwy, Little Bittern in South Yorkshire, and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, and in Forth the Gull-billed Tern reappeared. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), Golden Oriole (East Yorkshire), Red-necked Phalarope (County Donegal), Cattle Egret (Isle of Wight), Ring-billed Gull (County Fermanagh), and three Glossy Ibises. |

Caspian Tern in Lincolnshire and Red-footed Falcon
in East Yorkshire, whilst Little Bittern (South Yorkshire),
Gull-billed Terns (Lothian and Co Wexford), Dalmatian
Pelican (Cornwall), King Eider (Aberdeenshire),
Bonaparte's Gull (Norhumberland), Iberian Chiffchaff
(Isles of Scilly) and Great Spotted Cuckoo (Dorset) all
lingered. The best of the rest included Cattle Egret (Isle of Wight), Woodchat Shrike (Dorset), American Wigeon (Highland), Golden Oriole (East Yorkshire), Green-winged Teal (Cheshire), two Glossy Ibises and two Marsh Warblers. |

| A Bee-eater flew south over Spurn this morning, and a Black Kite
flew north at Danbury, Essex this afternoon.
Lingering rarities included the Dalmatian Pelican in Cornwall, Great Spotted Cuckoo in Dorset, Black-headed Bunting in Highland, Little Bittern in Yorkshire, Great Reed Warbler in Cambridgeshire, single Gull-billed Terns in Lothian and County Wexford and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland. Scarcity highlights included a Woodchat Shrike, an American Golden Plover, a Red-necked Phalarope, a Purple Heron, a White Stork, a Pomarine Skua and two Marsh Warblers. |
